Tehama Teacher Induction Program
Induction News and Updates for February 2024
ποΈ A MESSAGE FROM DR. JILLIAN DAMON
Dear Teachers, Mentors, Coaches and Administrators,
Welcome to the Spring Semester of Tehama Teacher Induction! π Jessica, Erin, Kim, and I are passionate about meeting your needs. We are here to be of service throughout your personalized induction experience. A unique feature of our program is that each mentor and candidate pair has a coach assigned as a personal concierge throughout the program. We hope you have found your coach collaboratives to be a way to receive individualized and personal feedback. Your success is our success, and we continue to reflect and refine our practices based on programmatic feedback.
π₯οΈAs we enter the sixth year of our accreditation cycle, the California Teaching Commission (CTC) will be conducting a three-day virtual site visit to evaluate our progress in meeting the Teacher Induction Program Standards.
During this visit, a CTC team will engage in interviews with TTIP participants to gather valuable feedback on their experiences. Many of you have been selected to participate in an online visit with members of the accreditation team, scheduled for either April 15th or 16th.
We want to reassure you that there is no need for preparation on your part. The team will simply ask questions about your induction experience in a small group setting. Your insights will not only help verify the accuracy of our reporting but also provide an opportunity to address any aspects that may not have been clearly communicated in our documents.
For those who have received invitations, we encourage your participation. However, if you have not received an invitation but would like to contribute to this important process, please reach out to us via email at induction@tehamaschools.org.
Your input is crucial to the success of our Teacher Induction Program, and we appreciate your ongoing commitment to excellence in education.
βTeachers make profound positive impacts on their students and the community at large. As teachers, we often donβt realize the impact of the little things we do each day. However, the data supports the difference you are making (We Are Teachers, 2019).
The average teacher will impact more than 3,000 students throughout their career.
88% of people say their teachers played a significant positive role in their lives.
54% of students say theyβve had a teacher who helped them through a difficult time.
75% of students say they see teachers as mentors and role models.
83% percent of students say a teacher has boosted their self-esteem and confidence.
In closing, thank you for all you do to support students and families, and THANK YOU for choosing to work with Tehama Teacher Induction. In each of our interactions, we strive to be RESPONSIVE and RELATIONAL and support the needs of the RURAL school communities that we serve. As we begin this new semester, let's renew our shared commitment to creating a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and support.
As always, please reach out if we can be of service to you in any way,
Jillian
