Cool things are hatching!
HISD is focusing on how we serve GT and high achieving students at the secondary level. Whether a student is served under Gifted & Talented services, is enrolled in a PreAP, AP, or dual credit course or BOTH, we want our students to have the very best program offerings available to them.
Through our work together, we will:
1) Ensure full GT services to every GT student,
2) Ensure AP students are ready for AP Exams,
3) Provide high quality dual enrollment courses,
4) Increase SAT and ACT scores, and
5) Probably much, much more!

What's on the Horizon
- 100% of our teachers will be College Board trained by the end of this summer!
- Focus on PreAP & AP Curriculum documents in June curriculum writing sessions.
- Focus on PreAP & AP instruction that targets GT students in August. (Complete 1st 9 Weeks.)
- Implement new learning and any new programs in August.
- Follow-up session October 19th to complete remainder of year (from August GT training)
