Roadrunner Open Campus Gathering - Monday, October 3,2022

Join us at the beginning of every month at 8:07 am behind the cafeteria. We will share a mindful moment and feature the character trait for the month. At Larsen we inspire everyone to demonstrate good character through the six pillars of good character . Each of the Six Pillars of Character help instill a positive school climate and a culture of kindness, making schools a safe environment to learn. We will feature a pillar every month.

This month our trait is Trustworthiness.

Safety First

We ask that during morning and afternoon Drop Off and Pick up, you do not park in the roundabout in front or back of the school. The Parking lots are for district staff and individuals who need accessible parking only except for a few labeled visitors parking spots. Remember to use crosswalks and sidewalks when walking to campus. Please be respectful to staff as we work together to enforce safety for all. Thank you in advance for making our school safety a priority!

Cafe con Leche Parent Workshop

Join us on October 7, 2022 at 8:30 am to our Cafe con Leche Parent Workshop. Ms. Paramo will share information with our families regarding ELPAC and reclassification. Also, Jose Ortega from Ventura County Public Health will be presenting.

Spanish Digital Resource

Just sharing the excellent Spanish digital library resource Tripulantes de la Lectura ("Reading Crew"). It includes reading support strategies for parents (they click on the tab that says "Padres;" it has a drop-down menu, and they will see "Estrategias." It has some bilingual books that are organized by age.

Have you checked out the HESD Sora Online Library? Our collection is HUGE - fiction - nonfiction - picture books, Spanish books, graphic novels, and more!!! Please have your students utilize this incredible resource - great for instruction as well! Share with parents too.

Picture Day

We will have picture day Tuesday, October 18. Students don't have to wear their uniform that day. Clothing should follow our District Dress Code. No need to prepay or submit forms. All students will have their picture taken. Approximately 2-3 weeks after Picture Day you will receive an email link to view and order your portrait online with a secure personal access code. All orders are placed online and will be shipped directly home.
