Middle School Matters
December 18, 2023
Be Safe. Be Respectful.
Be Responsible. Be Ready to Learn
The Mission of Portsmouth Middle School is to create a strong and safe learning environment: promote social, emotional and physical well-being and to provide opportunities for each student, to the best of their ability, to meet high academic standards, develop responsibility, and achieve the positive social values and behaviors to become productive citizens.
Winter Break
Winter break has come at a great time for all of us. We have accomplished quite a bit as a school in the first four plus months of the school year. We are going to take the time and reflect on how we would like to open the new calendar year and build the six month plan to make the 2023-2024 school year a memorable one.
Portsmouth Patriot Pride Door Decorating Contest!
Collaboration! Creativity! Purposeful conversation about our core values! The engineering-design process! Positivity! Focus! Leadership! Creating a positive school-climate!
Our Door Decorating Contest is proving to be a huge success! Students and staff have been working together to create a shared vision to represent our core values while talking about what makes us Patriots. It doesn't get any better than this! Final touches will be added on Tuesday during advisory, with judging of the doors happening after school on Tuesday.
We plan on sharing photos of completed doors in an upcoming newsletter!
Mid-quarter progress reports
The mid-quarter progress reports will be coming out this week. Feel free to check in with your child to ensure that their work is passed in and not outstanding. The progress reports are used to determine eligibility for after school sports/activities.
Winter Clothing Drive
We will be holding a Winter Clothing Drive in the month of December to help support families within our community. We have dedicated boxes set up in each grade wing for items such as gloves, hats, scarfs, sweaters, jackets, etc. If you have any clothing items you would like to donate please have your child bring them into school and they can drop them off in one of the 4 bins we have placed in each grade wing. Thank you!
