Scripture For Grief, Recovery, & Joy for March 6

Today’s Scripture
Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior
Habakkuk 3:17-18 NIV
Today's Guide
When preparing for today, think about the following: To Whom Do We Trust?
Food for Thought
Today’s scripture is a powerful reminder of the faithfulness and love of God, even in times of sorrow and despair. When everything we see around us seems to be going wrong, He remains our rock, our hope, and our salvation.
Today’s scripture speaks to those who are struggling with grief, providing comfort that He will never leave us or forsake us. He understands our pain and suffering, and He offers His strength for us to lean on during this difficult time. No matter what circumstances we face, He promises to remain faithful as long as we call upon Him for help.
Today encourages us to trust in the Lord instead of relying on ourselves, peers, or things that can quickly fade away. We must remember that no matter how bad things may seem right now, He has not forgotten about us — He is still there with us through it all! The Lord's power surpasses any temporary difficulties we may experience; we must have faith that He will bring good out of every situation if only we turn our eyes towards Him in full dependence.
Side note but fitting description: Looking for the right graphic for today’s scripture, I kept repeating God is my rock - a rock climber came to my mind. A rock climber knows their equipment; they diligently train, practice their passion, and take the adventure head-on, knowing the risks. They try new spots, take on new challenges, and practice their favorite climb time and time again, getting to know it a little more each time. They find happiness, peace, and joy in the challenge. They get that dopamine rush calling them back time and time again. The higher the climb, the more challenging it is, and the more they have to trust their hands, feet, and core not to fail them.
Gratitude
The more we practice gratitude, the more we find to be grateful for. In moments of distress, when life seems out of our control or life is moving too fast, it can be hard to muster up gratitude - even if there are no grapes on the vines or olive crops fail, we can still find joy in God, who is our salvation. Today, think about and write down 2-5 things that you are grateful for today.
Tip: If you're stuck here, reframe your perspective. Find something to be grateful for even in the midst of grief, even if it is the same things you have been grateful for all week. It helps us practice looking at life differently and find joy during difficult times.
Today's Prayer
Father, In the depths of my sorrow, even if I lose all I have, If You are with me, I will praise Your Name in the sunshine and the darkest cave. You are my rock and my salvation; that is all I need. Amen
