On Saturday, January 29th, the Blair Oaks R-II School District will be having a ceremony to commemorate the opening of the Blair Oaks High School.

Open House ~ 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Dedication Ceremony ~ 11:00 a.m. (HS auditorium)

Ribbon Cutting ~ following the Dedication Ceremony

Refreshments ~ 12:00 - 1:30 p.m.

The District will be recognizing the Blair Oaks R-II School District Board of Education, school personnel, community leaders, contractors, and subcontractors during the ceremony.

The public is invited!

Blair Oaks R-II Preschool Enrollment Information

Blair Oaks R-II Preschool will be opening in August 2022. We are excited to get the program started and to be able to serve our district families. A form is linked below that has specific information regarding the preschool program.

If you have an in-district child who will be turning four years old before August 1, 2022, they are eligible to enroll in the preschool program. It is requested that all families of an eligible child (whether you are interested in participating in the program or not) fill the form out so the district has updated information to use moving forward in the planning process.

Announcement: 2022-2023 Preschool Teacher

On Tuesday, January 11th the Blair Oaks R-II School District Board of Education approved the hire of Brooke Schell as the preschool teacher for the 2022-2023 school year.

Miss Schell has taught Kindergarten in the Moniteau County R-I (California) School District for the last 4 years. She has certifications in elementary education, early childhood education, and special reading. She is a graduate of Blair Oaks High School.

Recent feedback from ‌parents‌ ‌indicated ‌there‌ ‌were‌ ‌too‌ ‌many‌ ‌emails‌, leaving parents feeling a‌ ‌bit‌ ‌overwhelmed,‌ ‌many‌ ‌times‌ ‌ignoring‌ ‌them altogether.‌ The‌ ‌data‌ ‌will‌ ‌be‌ ‌streamlined‌ ‌and‌ ‌updated‌ ‌on‌ ‌the‌ ‌District‌ ‌Dashboard‌ ‌providing‌ ‌easy‌ ‌access‌ ‌to‌ ‌all‌ ‌families.‌ ‌

What constitutes moving from one risk level to another?

Due to the ever-changing factors, we have general positivity rates that we look at to determine movement from one risk level to another. Consideration of movement to the next level will be evaluated when the percentage of positive is in the ranges indicated below. These percentages are not definitive but will be the general range of consideration.

Green Level of Risk: 0-5%

Yellow Level of Risk: 6-10%

Red Level of Risk: 11%+

***In addition to COVID, there are increasing cases of Influenza and Strep. The best way to help prevent spread is to keep your child home from school if they aren't feeling well.

Falcon Flyer Bake Sale

Our Falcon Flyers are hosting a Bake Sale next week. Money raised will be used for service projects around the community.

What: Bake Sale - items range from 50 cents to $1

When: Tuesday, January 18th thru Friday, January 21st from 7:30am - 7:50am each day

Where: Tuesday & Wednesday: BIS Foyer, Thursday & Friday: BES

Home and School ~ Teacher Appreciation

Blair Oaks Intermediate Home & School would like to treat our teachers and staff to a soup luncheon on Wednesday, January 26th. Please take a look at the sign up below and see if there would be something you would be willing to donate to our soup day to make it a success. We would ask that all donated items be brought into the intermediate office no later than the morning of January 26th. Thank you for all your continued support!!

Valentine's Class Parties

Note: Only those signed up for a party will be allowed to attend.

All parties are from 8:15-9:15am. Please take a moment to sign up for the party that you would like to plan on attending this school year if you haven't already. IF you came to the Halloween or Christmas Party, you will have to refrain from attending the Valentine's Party.

IF you already signed up, you do not need to sign up again.

**Please note: if at any time prior to the scheduled parties we move to the red risk level, parents will not be able to attend parties. We will continue to keep you updated should this take place.

General Guidelines:

Only those signed up for a party will be allowed to attend.
Hand sanitizer will be available in each classroom.
Parties will take place first thing in the morning from 8:15-9:15am. Guests will not be allowed to go to classrooms until 8:15.
Each classroom will have a sign-up to send in items for the party.

Reminder- Water Bottles

Just a reminder that students should bring water bottles to school each day. A back-up water bottle for their locker is recommended. This week there have been many water bottles handed out to students.
