A Message From The Principal
Welcome Back! This has been a crazy snow filled week but the 2 days we were able to get students in the building went well. Friendly reminder that unless you have spoken directly with an administrator about your student remaining virtual they are expected to be attending 5 days a week in person either following an AM or PM schedule.
Students who have been approved to remain virtual will now be following an asynchronous schedule meaning they are able to access classroom work via Canvas/APEX anytime during the day. Teachers will let students know via Canvas when they will be available to assist. It is important that if your student has remained virtual they are logging on to their work daily.
I understand that there may be concerns regarding Covid but please note that are numbers are low enough and with us running two half day sessions we are able to keep students the required social distance from each other to remain safe. In addition, all students, staff, and persons entering the building are required to wear face coverings at all times. Again, we are taking as many steps as possible to ensure our student's and staff's safety.
If your students wakes up and is not feeling well we would ask that you keep them at home and contact the school. Self-screening daily will be essential to students being able to remain at school.
If you have questions regarding when your student should be attending or other questions regarding in person learning please do not hesitate to give the school a call at 317-532-2996.
Lastly, students attending in person should bring their Chromebooks to school daily. Again, in an attempt to create and keep a safe environment we are trying not to share devices.
Stay Safe, Stay Warm, and See You Monday!

District Covid-19 Data
MSD Warren Township COVID-19 data will be updated and shared each Friday on our district website which can be accessed HERE. Included in this data are the number of positive cases by school/facility as well as the total number of individuals (students and staff) who were required to isolate or quarantine. Individuals that are in isolation may or may not have COVID-19 and may or may not have been exposed within Warren schools/facilities. Isolation and quarantine are used to slow the spread of COVID-19.
**These numbers do not mean that a school or facility is unsafe for students and staff, rather that precautionary steps are being taken to protect all students and staff. We will continue to communicate with staff and families if they are identified as a close contact to a positive COVID-19 case.

School District Publications/News Media Use
The occasion may arise when the school district wants to recognize your child or your child's school. This may include your child's photo, your child's name or your child's work in district publications, newsletters, on school district websites, and in electronic/social media or in staff training videos. We may also want to tell the media (including newspapers, television, and radio) about your child's achievements. We never knowingly release information about a student to anyone who wants to use it for commercial/political purposes. However, we will honor your request to not include your child in these types of recognition if you notify your child's school office in writing that you do not want this type of information released.

New Student Information System-- Synergy
Warren is excited to announce that we have upgraded to a new student information system called Synergy. This means that our old parent portal, Tyler, will be going away. Instead, the parent portal will be upgraded to Synergy’s ParentVUE. ParentVUE is an online tool to help you monitor your student’s education. It allows you to update contact information and provides you with access to the latest information about your child’s attendance and scheduling. Our middle and high school families can view class assignments, report card grades, and course history with ParentVUE.
Once ParentVUE is available, parents who have a previous Tyler account will receive an email with instructions about setting up your new username and password. If you do not have a Tyler SIS account, please complete a registration form located on our parent portal webpage and return it to your school to begin the process of activating your account.
ParentVUE is a great way to stay connected with your student's school and track their academic progress. It also helps us stay in contact with you!
Chromebooks! Please Bring Your Device Daily!
In an attempt to keep students safe we are asking that students bring their individual devices from home to school daily. There will be no sharing of Chromebooks. Chromebooks will not be available in classrooms. Students will need to bring their devices, charging chords, and cases everyday to school.

ONLINE ENRICHMENT LEARNING OPPORTUNITY
The registration to enroll for the Purdue Gifted Education Research and Resource Institute’s (GER2I) Spring Super Saturday program held in February 2021 is now open! At these GER2I camps, students take challenging classes related to their area(s) of interest. We offer hands-on classes in a wide range of subjects, including STEM and the humanities, all designed to be one to two grade levels above traditional classroom content. These classes are taught by esteemed professors, graduate students, and teachers from Lafayette and surrounding areas.
GER2I's Virtual Super Saturday program provides learning experiences that explore advanced material and develop critical and creative thinking. We offer a caregiver-child format for children in PreK - 5th grades so caregivers can spend quality time and gain experience working with their children. This is required. The participation of caregivers of students in 6th - 12th grades is not required, but parents are invited to our parent interest sessions.
2021 virtual spring Super Saturday program will fall on February 6, 13, 20, 27 in 2021. REGISTER ONLINE at: https://cvent.me/2PdBln The registration fee per student is $145. All the students are eligible to enroll, with no prerequisites.
