Callie Stalliard is a part of the Business Department teaching Microsoft Office, Marketing and Management, and Personal Finance. She comes to us from several years of teaching in Knox County and George. She received a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Miami in Business Administration and Management and a Master’s Degree in Management of Nonprofit Agencies from Capella University. This is her 9th year in education. She enjoys watching college football and traveling. Her favorite team is the Miami Hurricanes.

Jonathan Schoolcraft has taught math for six years, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry. Mr. Schoolcraft previously taught at Northwest Middle School in Knox County and Wartburg Central High School in Morgan County. When Mr. Schoolcraft is not teaching, he loves to travel and walk and hike with his fiance and dog.

The TN Promise application has officially opened as of August 1 for the class of 2019! Seniors, apply at http://www.tnpromise.gov/ for the scholarship no later than November 1, 2018! This is Step #1 to two free years of college!!

Parents, students are REQUIRED to wear their ID badges. In addition to being a security measure to identify students, badges are used as a key card for the building, to pay for lunch, to check out library books as well as enter and exit the library, printing, and anything regarding their computer equipment support. Students who lose their badge are required to replace it. The cost is $5.00. Given the current state of school safety, this is a requirement - please help us by establishing a routine in your home to ensure your student arrives with it each day.

The PTSO for ORHS will sponsor Open House on August 9th! We encourage all families to come and learn more about the high school, meet teachers, join PTSO, and find out how you can support the staff and students at ORHS!

A new parking tag is REQUIRED every year a student drives to ORHS - regardless of whether the car is parked on the street or one of the surrounding churches. Tags this year are GRAY! Please make sure your teen driver registers their vehicle for a parking tag in Student Services.

THANK YOU to Heather Hinderlight at JMS who has posted a video from Canvas onto YouTube explaining the new Observer Pair Code needed to connect parents to student Canvas accounts. This will be used on the new Canvas Parent Mobile platform, and the web version of Canvas. At the high school, Canvas is NOT the final grades; for grades, please look to Skyward. However, Canvas will allow parents to see assignments and grades which have been completed on the platform - or still need to be completed!!!

Mrs. Witick has been an Instructional Technology Coach in Oak Ridge Schools for 12 years. Before to coming to Oak Ridge, she taught Biology in Knox County for several years. Students can purchase an All-Sports Athletic Pass for $55.00. This pass will grant admission to all home games - ALL sports! The exception would be TSSAA hosted playoff games. Passes can be purchased at any time in the Main Office from Mrs. Seals.

• Seniors and Families Cookout- Senior and Senior Family Cookout Sunday August 12th from 6-8 PM. Siblings are welcome to attend but must be accompanied by a parent.
  
• Coaches Meal- Please consider signing up to host a meal for the Coaches on Sundays as they review film and work on the week ahead. Meal time drop off is 5 PM and enough to feed 15 coaches. • Helmet Striping-It is an annual tradition for parents and family members to stripe their player’s helmet before the 1st game of the season. Helmet striping is tentatively set for Tuesday, August 14th 6:30-7 PM. You can write a note of encouragement and support for your player and the other Wildcats to leave in their locker with their helmet. Please plan on joining us for this special event!
