The Walker Talker
Walker Career Center weekly update - September 11, 2020
We Got Spirit, Yes we Do.... We've got spirit, how 'bout you?
The Walker Career Center team had a fun week participating in Homecoming Spirit Week. Throughout the week we were able to show pride to our Alma Mater, take a trip to Hawaii, rock our favorite jersey, and display our pride for the Black and Gold. Good luck to the Warriors this evening as they look to beat LC and show why they are the Pride of the Eastside.
As always, if you are unable to attend the game you can hear all of your Warrior action on our very own, 91.1 WEDM this evening starting at 7:00 PM.
Itching to be Stitching
The Fashion and Textiles class has been hard at work preparing fabric for their quilting project this semester. Traditionally, the students are able to display their finished quilts during a Quilt Show at the Career and College Fest. In addition to making quilts, they were able to surprise Dr. Hanson this week with a personalized mask!
Walker Career Center Alum Highlighted in Nextech's Publication
Our Computer Science instructor, Mr. Josh Law, received a nice promotional letter from Nextech that highlighted one of his former students. Jeff Priso Batoum participated in a wide range of programs at Walker during his time with us. He was involved in PLTW Engineering, Computer Science, and Internship through Work Based Learning. Jeff is currently attending Purdue University where he is majoring in Computer Science!
