Good morning!

We have several events coming up this week, including the First Quarter Honor Roll Ceremony, HSA Meeting, and Parent/Teacher Conferences. We look forward to seeing you!

We are grateful to the HSA for a wonderful yard sale this past weekend. We hope you found some treasures!

Attached to this newsletter is the 2020-2021 School Financial Statement and the 2022-2023 Tuition Rates. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thank you as always for your partnership in your child's education.

First Quarter Honor Roll Ceremony

First Quarter Honor Roll Ceremony will be held after Mass this Friday. Virtus-certified parents are welcome to join us!

2022-2023 Tuition, Financial Aid, and Re-Enrollment

A huge thank you to the School Advisory Board for their work on next year's tuition rates (attached). Also attached is the 2020-2021 Financial Position Statement for the school.

A few key upcoming dates for returning families:

December 1st: Deadline for Financial Aid applications for the 2022-2023 school year

December 1st-January 31st: Re-enrollment period in TADS

January 31st: Deadline for current students to re-enroll for the upcoming year prior to opening spots to new families

Parent/Teacher Conferences

There is no school for students this Thursday November 11th. Please sign up for parent/teacher conferences no later than Wednesday evening at 8 p.m.

Food Drive

We are collecting donations of pie filling, pie crust, and cranberry sauce for the Marlboro Food Bank. Please send in any donations by Friday November 12th.

Office Staff Changes and P.E. Teacher

I am sad to share with you that Mrs. Sue Meyer is no longer working at St. Mary of the Assumption School. We are so grateful for her time in the office and all students, parents, and teachers she assisted. We will miss her and wish her the best of luck in all her future endeavors.

I am pleased, however, to announce that Mr. Phillipe Monfiston has accepted a permanent position in the dual role as P.E. teacher and office assistant. Mr. Monfiston (or "Coach M") has been teaching P.E. as a long term substitute since Coach Ansah's departure earlier this year. He will now be the permanent P.E. teacher on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and will be assisting Mrs. Campbell in the office on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

For now, please direct all office and Virtus related inquiries to Mrs. Campbell (tcampbell@stmaryum.org).

Maryland MESA Participants

We are SO proud of the four participants in the Maryland MESA program. Drew Smith, Kovi Akue, Alyssa Gotora, and Lanier (LJ) Watkins. Maryland MESA uses a project-based approach to teach participating students the fundamentals of engineering and computer science. Student teams work on projects (called challenges) which are designed by APL and the national MESA organization to help students develop computer programming and engineering skills. The teams then compete against other teams that have worked on the same challenge. We will be recognizing their great work at Friday's Honor Roll Ceremony.
