* remind your student(s) if they walk to school to cross in marked crosswalks ONLY; this is at the Northstar/Conejo intersection;
* speak with your student(s) about LCPS’s Student Dress Code policy 8270 , particularly part three that outlines items that violate policy, to help your student remain in alignment with county guidance;

Access LINQ Connect to Pay for Student Meals
LCPS’ meal payment system is called LINQ Connect (formally TITAN Family Portal). To register for a LINQ Connect account, go to LINQ Connect and click on the “Register” button in the top right corner.
At the end of last year, TITAN Family Portal, LCPS' previous meal payment system, changed to LINQ Connect. You can use the same credentials to login to LINQ Connect that you used with TITAN Family Portal. You do not need to create an account, change a password, etc.
If you used the TITAN Family Portal mobile app, you will need to download the LINQ Connect app. TITAN Family Portal mobile app will not work; however, all of your previous credentials will work in the LINQ Connect app. You can use the same credentials to log in to LINQ Connect that you used with TITAN Family Portal.
Fall Book Fair
The Champe Library is hosting a Scholastic Book Fair from September 11-22. Students can shop the Book Fair with cash, credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. If you would like to provide money for your student without sending cash or a card, you can use Scholastic’s convenient e-wallet system (accessible from our Book Fair Website) to give your child pre-paid Book Fair credit.

PTSA
JOIN THE PTSA!! PTSA? What Does that even mean?
Like many public schools, the collaboration of our parents and teachers are vital to education outcomes. As a PTSA (Parent Teacher Student Association), we include our students in that equation, too. We count on your participation to make your student’s experience at John Champe HS worthwhile. Please consider joining our PTSA team. We are an organization that ultimately supports the entire student body through social and academic activities, scholarships, teacher development sponsorships, campus improvements, and more. Click through this Instagram post to see some of our contributions during the 2022-2023 school year. We meet once a month, with virtual and in-person attendance options, so members can hear about and discuss what is relevant at JCHS directly from the administration, teachers, and other parents. Any parent may volunteer on our committees or support us in other ways. Joining the PTSA shows us you care and want to be part of improving the Knight educational experience. It's as easy as visiting our membership portal, selecting your membership type, and completing the online form.
WE NEED YOUR HELP
We have openings for two extremely important roles on the board: Membership Chair and Fundraising Chair. Click through this Instagram post to learn more about both positions. If you are interested or want to learn more, please email johnchampeptsa@gmail.com.
THE PSAT AND SAT ARE RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER: GET SOME PRACTICE FIRST!
For just $20, take a full-length practice SAT exam with Huntington Learning Center on Saturday, September 23, at 9 a.m. in the JCHS cafeteria. Students from any school can register for the test. Proceeds go to the Champe PTSA, which supports our students and teachers. Huntington Learning Center will provide you with a comprehensive score report and teach you how to analyze your results. Since the scores will only be seen by you, this is a risk-free opportunity. Don't miss out!

New, Optional Service Provides Report of Student Website Access on LCPS Devices
ew this school year, LCPS is introducing an optional and free service for families called Lightspeed Parent Portal. Families who elect to use this service will receive weekly reports by email that list websites their student(s) are accessing when using their LCPS-issued Chromebook or laptop. For instructions, additional information and details on how to sign up, see the Lightspeed Parent Portal website.
SchooLinks Helps Students Plan Their Futures
LCPS has partnered with SchooLinks to prepare students for what comes after graduation. SchooLinks helps students discover their interests and strengths, explore colleges and careers, and create individualized plans that best reflect their post-secondary goals. SchooLinks also includes a College Application Manager, an incredible tool for students who are applying to colleges. This feature is designed to streamline the college application process and keep your student organized every step of the way. Currently, SchooLinks is accessible to middle and high school students and their parents/guardians. Middle and high school students will continue to receive guidance on utilizing the platform. In October, elementary students and their parents will have access to the platform. Students access SchooLinks via LCPSGo, and parents/guardians access the platform through ParentVue. SchooLinks replaces Naviance, which closed on June 30, 2023. Learn more about SchooLinks.
