2020-21 REGISTRATION
Registration for the 2020-2021 School Year happening now! Counselors will be working with WHS students on the following schedule to get them enrolled for next year’s courses. Course selection sheets are available.
Rising Seniors (current juniors) – January 7-10
Rising Juniors (current sophomores) – January 13-16
Rising Sophomores (current freshmen) – January 21-24
ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE ATTENDANCE OFFICE
New policy:
Notes for ANY absence must be turned in within 3 days of returning to school. This includes Dr. notes, parent notes, court notes, college day forms, etc. We will not be entering notes into Skyward if a note is turned in past the deadline.
Also, you are responsible for making sure your attendance is correct on Skyward. Please keep track of your attendance throughout the semester.

Project Prom Needs YOUR Help!
Project Prom is a safe and fun place for the students to go after prom from midnight to 6am!
We will have a short meeting for all senior parents to pick up raffle tickets and 80’s Adult Prom tickets on Monday, January 13th at 6pm. Location is Pasta Fina on Main. We will arrive at 5:30 to begin handing out tickets!
The raffle will be for a cross bow! We need all seniors and parents to sell these in order for it to be a great fundraiser!
The 80’s Adult Prom will be Saturday, February 29th at 8pm, Vintage Museum!
This will be a fundraiser for adults only. Please dress in your best 80’s gear/prom for a night of fun and dancing!

Lady Roo Soccer Results
Varsity Lady Roos won first place in the Mansfield Timberview tournament. 21 goals scored, none against.
Varsity Lady Roos defeated a scrappy North Crowley team 3-2. The Roos came back from a deficit twice to win the game. Senior Abigail Griffin scored off a PK to start the game, Hunter Gomez assisted Aubree McCue, and Payton Thibodeaux assisted Mady Wolfsen to pull away with a win.

The Sharing Shack
We are thrilled to announce that The Sharing Shack, established by senior Keaton Martin, is officially open for business. Keaton started this project with a desire to help secure donations for fellow classmates in need. We are accepting donations for hygiene products, new socks and under garments, new or gently used clothes, coats/jackets, blankets, etc. Gift cards for food or gas are also welcome. If you would like to help, or have any questions, please feel free to email Mrs. Robertson at crobertson@weatherfordisd.com

Roo Soccer Results
The Roos opened up the season with a tough 4-1 loss to South Grand Prairie at the Grapevine tournament. Kenny Kienle scored the first goal of the season 20 minutes into the game to take a 1-0 lead. Tied 1-1 in the second half the Roos battled, but could not match the Warriors offensive production. Final score was 4-1 SGP.
The boys Varsity and Jv soccer teams also competed in the Brewer Cave Classic. The JV played two close games vs. Poly and Brewer but were unable to put any points in the back of the net. The Varsity Boys played Diamond Hill in the first game and got on the board quickly with a blast from outside from Ebake (the rocket) Saidi to lead 1-0 at half. Diamond Hill tallied three of their own in the second half to defeat the Roos 3-1. In the second game, the Roos defeated Boswell 3-0 Scoring three beautiful goals from Ebake ( the rocket) Saidi, Isaiahs (súper toe) Gomez and Kenny (pocket corner) Kienle.

Roo Wrestling Results

The Boys Wrestling team wrestled against Benbrook and came away with a 77-6 victory. This continues the great season that the boys are having. The sole loss for Weatherford was due to a forfeit from a wrestler who was out sick. Wrestlers who competed and won in the match were: RC Bullock, Daniel Cedillo, Ben Williams, Mason Woodward, Colton Kern, Kit Sanders, Keaton Ganus, Ethan Scott, Jakob Deleon, Mathew McDougall, Koby Kidd, Jesse McCaslin, and Gary O'Bannon. The boys will next compete next weekend at the State Dual Championships. Congrats boys, and good luck next week!
Recently, the Varsity Lady Roo wrestlers competed in an 84 team tournament (the largest in the nation) in Houston.
Taking only 4 varsity girls and two JV girls wrestling up, the Lady Roos took 8th place overall as a team. As we get back to full strength by filling all the weight classes, the Lady Roos will be a force to recon with.
Placing were Camille Fournier 1st place and still undefeated, Kadee Kelley 5th place beating the number 2 and 6th ranked girls in the state moving her ranking to number 3 in the state, and Kaylynn Green took 7th beating the Number 4 ranked girl in the state.
The JV Lady Roos traveled to Arlington Lamar and stepped it up by competing in a Varsity tournament. Placing at this tournament were Ana Luna taking 4th, Perla Rodriquez placing 4th, and Rhiannon Workman taking 3rd place.The Lady Roos took on the Benbrook Bobcats in our Home Senior Dual and last home event.
The Lady Roos came away with a major victory, winning the Dual 48-6.
Wins came from Ashton Ganus, Kadee Kelley, Camille Fournier, Ana Luna, Gen Upthegrove, Jacy Pundsack, Kaylynn Green, and Rhiannon Workman.
Please congratulate these Ladies.
Our next event will be on Jan 18th at Arlington High School in the Dia De Los Reyes tournament.

Lady Roo Basketball Update
The Lady Roos had to battle back in the 3rd quarter from a 12 point deficit, and with 1:34 left took the lead for the first time 46-45, but free throws in the end helped Haltom come away with a 51-48 win. Hannah Kness lead all scorers with a season high 21, with McCenzie Wells , Kilie Cummings, Sydney Steffler, Emily Byrd, and Allie Horn added 7, 6, 5, 3, and 2.
Way to go, Lady Roos!

The scholarship applications are online at https://st-andrew.com/outreach/scholarship-funds. The scholarship may be filled out online, printed and then submitted with all of the necessary paper work (reference letters, essay, tax returns, official high school transcript & SAT or ACT scores).
