Heath News
Our community is experiencing an exponential surge in COVID-19 cases. Please take steps to help reduce your risk and our risk. Health experts believe this will continue for several weeks.
- STAY HOME IF YOU ARE SICK
- Wear a well-fitting mask around others in public and consider upgrading your mask to a medical mask or respirator (KN95 or N95) if possible
- If exposed, consider staying home and test day 5 or sooner if you develop symptoms (see handout)
- Get vaccinated (ages 5+) and/or get a booster dose (ages 5+ who are 5+ months after the primary vaccine series); PCHD's weekly schedule is shown
- Avoid large, indoor crowds if possible
If you or someone in your house tests positive for COVID-19, please contact the school nurse. We will help you understand the current isolation guidance.
Testing is available through Nomi or other community sites (see attached list).
Please help us weather this storm!
Virtual Campus Enrollment for 2022-2023
Hello Families,
THIS IS THE FINAL WEEK TO ENROLL into DMPS Virtual Campus 6-12 Online School for the 2022-23 school year! Enroll NOW if interested! Virtual Campus is 100% ONLINE. It is an accredited school by the state of Iowa that serves both Middle School and High School students, 6th through 12th grade! Enrolled students will be provided district technology and many of the same courses, student services, and supports they would receive in-person, but in a virtual learning environment. These include: Special Education services, English Language Learner supports, 504 Plan accommodations, and Gifted & Talented programming. This modality offers additional flexibility to students in different situations. Courses will be held completely online through a combination of synchronous (“live”) and asynchronous (“independent”) learning sessions. Students who enroll at Virtual Campus will graduate and receive a diploma with Virtual Campus. In addition, Virtual Campus students will still be able to take part in athletics/activities at their address assigned schools, as well as events such as Homecoming and Prom!
Families wishing to learn more about the Virtual Campus experience in terms of enrollment, schedules, extracurricular activities, graduation, parent involvement, student outlook, etc. should visit our website at: https://virtualcampus.dmschools.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/25/2021/04/DMPS-Virtual-Campus-Communication-2022-23.pdf
