Updates from Superintendent Radeke
April 14, 2023
SUPERINTENDENT CORNER
Dear Lester Prairie School District Families,
Our dedicated teachers and staff continue to work diligently to ensure our district mission of developing every learner to the learner's maximum potential, to succeed and continue to learn in a changing world. We are committed to ensuring that our students are healthy, safe, and receive high-quality instruction and programming so that they can thrive. There are only 30 school days left until the end of this school year for K-11 students. There are only 25 school days left until our 2023 Seniors graduate. Those days will likely fly by!
Here's to a great spring!
Sincerely,
Superintendent Melissa Radeke

COUNSELOR NEWS:
Spring is upon us and with that brings the MCA Testing Season for our students and our district. The Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCA) are statewide tests in Reading, Math, and Science. These tests help districts measure student progress toward Minnesota’s academic standards and also meet the requirements of the Elementary and Secondary Act (ESEA).
It is very important for students to be at school during planned testing dates. Districts are held accountable for ensuring that all students enrolled and eligible are assessed during the testing window. Students in grades 3-8 will take both Reading and Math MCA’s. Fifth grade students will also take a Science MCA. Students in grade 10 will take a Reading and Science MCA. Eleventh grade students will take a Math MCA. The testing dates can be found here.
If you have any questions about MCA testing, please contact your child’s teacher or the School Counselor/District Assessment Coordinator Christine Mattson @ mattson@lp.k12.mn.us or by calling 320-395-2521.
