Middle School students were given their music polos this week!

If there is an issue with the size that was given please send it in with a note and the size desired.

If a student has not yet paid for their polo they will need to bring in $20 (Checks made out to Centerburg Music Boosters) to receive their polo before the concert.

Just a reminder that along with the polo students are to wear dressy black on the bottom (no holes or athletic apparel), and dress black shoes. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to us.

One of my favorite things is giving students the opportunity to participate in honor choir events. Students from our school apply/audition to be a part of one of the festivals that we participate in. High school students can try out for the Kent State All Star Choir or the OMEA District X Honor Choir Festival. Middle school students can apply for OMEA as well as the Columbus Children's Choir Festival which happens in February.

These events require students to work on music outside of class and to prepare for a more advanced experience with other students from around the state of Ohio. I love the sense of accomplishment these students achieve as well as the new rehearsal skills they bring back to our home choirs.

High school-Sequoia Hein Byerly, Meredith Morgan, Madigan Kennedy, Victoria Nash, Autumn Kennedy, Alexis Cole, Emilee Fletcher, Annelise Nash, Emma McCombs, Kristi Jordan, Hayden Sutton, Trey Figgins, Bryton Davis, and Sam Bassett.

Below is a picture of those who went to Kent. All are welcome to the District X Honor Choir Festival Concert November 9 at 3:30 in the Chapel at Mount Vernon Nazarene University.

On October 13 the Gay St UMC hosted the Concert Choir and Middle C for an invitational fall concert. The groups prepared spirituals and gospel songs and learned a lot about the history behind that American music tradition. Above is the video of that concert.
