Holy Cross Catholic School

Since the time I started my role as interim principal in the Spring of 2020, I have always wondered what it would be like to have a year where I was able to focus on my typical roles and responsibilities. This year has felt like the smoothest start yet and I assume close to what being an administrator was like before the global pandemic. From the smiling faces on the first day of school to gathering with parents in the gym on Back to School Night, it finally feels like we are in a really good rhythm making the strides to make the changes needed for success. It is truly amazing to see how far we have come in two years even with all the obstacles thrown our way. Please see our first Annual Report attached below for more information about last school year.

We could have never done it without the love and support of our community. Thank you everyone for believing in Holy Cross and Catholic education. It truly takes a village and we are blessed to be in partnership with each and every family here at Holy Cross. Have a safe and happy Labor Day everyone!

We have a lot going on in September, so please mark your calendars. Fall is going to be packed full of fun!

Please join us for Mass in the gym at 9:15am. Students can give their grandparents a tour of the building and classroom before classes resume at 11am. Donuts and coffee with be in the hallways provided by our Celebration Committee for our wonderful Very Important People!

Lemon Out Day- September 15th- Students can wear any yellow shirt in support of Children's Cancer if they pay $5

Newly engaged to married for 50 or more years, this evening is for you!

We are excited to invite you to join us for Mass at 4:00pm followed by a

romantic dinner in Licktieg Hall. After dinner, Ryan and Kylie Hays, local leaders with “EverMore in Love" will present refreshingly positive ways they have learned to approach marriage with their Catholic faith

at the center.

Born and raised in Nebraska, the Hays family moved to Kansas City in 2007 for Ryan's residency training. They fell in love with western Shawnee, which they now call home. Ryan and Kylie have been married for 19 years and have 3 daughters, ages 15, 11, and 10. Quinn attends Saint James Academy, while Skyler and Paige attend Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School in Shawnee. They also have 3 dogs and a fish. They are active volunteers in their parish and school and enjoy many outdoor adventures in their spare time.
