Welcome Back!
Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! The entire Student Support Team would like to welcome all of our students back to Bellport Middle School and are excited for the year ahead.
Throughout the year, your student support team members will be available to meet with you about various needs including your classes, academic support, planning for college, career options, military information, SEL groups, scheduling and your social/emotional needs! Please know we are here to support you in every way that we can!
We look forward to working with you and your families. Remember – we are here to help!
How do I make an appointment with my counselor?
Counselors will meet with their students by appointment. Please click on the links below to request an appointment with your counselor. Please make sure to list a valid email address and we will send you your appointment time shortly!

Guidance Presentations this Fall
6th graders will receive an individual meeting with their School Counselor in September to conduct their Individual Progress Review, which will cover each student's personal goals.
6th grade students will also be receiving social and emotional learning topics with their school counselors monthly.
8th grade students will be met with and do a learning style activity and participate in a virtual college tour!

Group Counseling
The Student Support Team currently runs several groups to help our students. If you are interested in any of these groups, please contact one of our Support Team Members to join today or please fill out this Google Form to show interest.
- Why Try - A group to increase motivation, self-esteem and school success
- Children In Change - A group to assist with major life changes such as death of a loved one and family changes
- Coping Cats/Stress Management - A group that assists with Anxiety and coping skills
- Lunch Bunch - Meets during lunch periods to form positive peer connections and self-esteem. A student structured group as students assist the counselors in choosing topics and activities covered
- Empowerment Group - A group to assist students who have had any experiences with family members in prison
- Teen Intervene - An individual or group program to deal with Tabaco or Substance Abuse. Students can self refer or be referred by an administrator
- New Entrants - a group for new students to the district to learn about our school and all it has to offer!

Mental Health Resources
DASH in Hauppauge is open 24/7, 365 days a year. It is essentially a "walk-in clinic" for mental health support. You will be assessed and supported in person the same day by a psychiatric nurse practitioner, registered nurse and social worker. DASH also has a mobile crisis team that can come to your home. DASH will help in a crisis situation as well as make long term referrals.

988 is the new Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is a United States-based suicide prevention network of over 200+ crisis centers that provides 24/7 service via a toll-free hotline with the number 9-8-8. It is available to anyone in suicidal crisis or emotional distress.
