Hello Lakeside Families!
I hope you have enjoyed your week and are doing well! It is exciting and hard to believe that our 21-22 school year will be starting soon. The entire Lakeside Staff is looking forward to seeing everyone at our Meet The Teacher Night at Lakeside from 4:30-6:00 on Monday, July 26th.
As a reminder, the first day of school for the 2021-2022 school year is Wednesday, July 28th. Elementary school hours are 8:05am - 3:05pm. Parents, please have your students bring their devices back to school on the first day of school. Our front office is available to help with any registration questions or needs for either virtual or in-person learning. Please call our office at 317-532-2850 for any needed assistance or to set up an appointment for assistance with registering your child for the upcoming school year.
Moorhead Community Resource Center will be hosting a fun-filled back-to-school event next Thursday, July 22nd from 5 pm to 7 pm for Warren students and families. In addition to school supplies being provided, there will be several exciting activities including games, a furniture raffle, and shoes for students. We ask that students be present to receive supplies and clothing items. These items will be shared on a first come first serve basis.
We would appreciate your help in notifying us if your child will be a car rider for the upcoming school year, as we anticipate a greater number of car riders this year. If your student(s) will be a car rider this school year please email our secretary Mrs. Hamilton at dhamilto@warren.k12.in.us with your child's first and last name and if applicable the name of the daycare in order to have your car rider tags ready on the 1st day of school. This will help make our car rider process much faster and efficient.
As always, I thank you for your continued support of Lakeside Elementary! Take care, be safe, and have a great weekend!

Some updates on devices:

All returning students will have their device, charger, and shell or case confirmed by their teacher. Students who do not return with a working device or charger may be charged a replacement fee. Also, a student receiving a new device that does not return their old device, charger, and case may be charged a replacement fee. If you are not returning to Warren, please return your device to your child’s school or at Moorhead Community Resource Center.

SCHOOL DISTRICT PUBLICATIONS/NEWS MEDIA USE
The occasion may arise when the school district wants to recognize your child or your child's school. This may include your child's photo, your child's name or your child's work in district publications, newsletters, on school district websites, and in electronic/social media or in staff training videos. We may also want to tell the media (including newspapers, television, and radio) about your child's achievements. We never knowingly release information about a student to anyone who wants to use it for commercial/political purposes. However, we will honor your request to not include your child in these types of recognitions if you notify your child's school office in writing that you do not want this type of information released.
