Rasor Elementary
Everything you would like to know: Dec.16- Dec. 20
Our Mission
Hi Rasor Families!
It was so great to see all of the second graders perform their Winter Program. A big THANK YOU to all the teachers (shout out especially to Mrs. Blacketer for directing!) who made the program possible. It was beautiful and the kids looked like they had so much fun. It was another great night showcasing our wonderful students and staff.
Class party donations have been sent out through classroom teachers and winter class parties will take place on Thursday, December 19th. Please remember that December 20th will be a busy day. We will have our 2nd 9 weeks Rocket Rockstar Assembly, 3-5 will send home report cards, and it will be an early release day at noon!
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Leigh Ann Earnhart, Principal
Jigyasa Sethi, Assistant Principal

A message from Nurse Mallory
If your student has borrowed clothing from the clinic, please wash and return clothing as soon as possible.
FEVER– Fever is often a sign of illness or infection. The PISD policy is to send a child home if their temperature is 100 degrees Fahrenheit or above. If your child has been sent home from school or is at home ill, please do not send them back to school until they have been fever free for 24 hours without the use of Acetaminophen/Tylenol or Ibuprofen/Advil. Please check your child’s temperature before school if they are complaining about not feeling well. If they have a temperature of 100 or above, keep them at home. Temperatures usually go up throughout the day. Remember to wait 20-30 minutes after eating or drinking to take an oral temperature. If you have medicated them with Acetaminophen/Tylenol or Ibuprofen/Advil within the last 4-6 hours, this can cause their fever to be reduced and thus would not be an accurate reading.
VOMITING & DIARRHEA– A child should be kept home until symptoms have resolved for 24 hours and the child is able to eat and drink. If they vomit at home in the morning before school, they need to stay home. If they vomit during the night, they need to stay home that day.
Attendance Reminders
- If your child is going to be absent please call the Child Safe line (469-752-2900 option 3) to report their absence.
- Notes must be turned in within three (3) days of their return to school and include:
- the date(s) they were absent
- the reason for their absence
- a parent/guardian's signature if written by a parent/guardian
- Beyond 10 days, students must turn in doctor's notes.
- Chronic absences and tardies will result in an intervention plan.
- Continued absences and tardies can result in truancy being filed.
- Please work with the school to avoid these difficult situations.
MOST IMPORTANTLY, be in school!
EARLY CHECK OUT PROCEDURE
If you need to check your child out of school early for an appointment, you must check them out before 2:15. After 2:15 we will not be able to dismiss students for early check-out due to carpool. Thank you for your understanding!
