News for You:
- Book Fair: We had a great turnout at this year's book fair. Thank you for supporting our book fair and getting more books for our students!
- Reading Month: This year's theme is based on Candy Land and will be Reading Land! There are some fun prizes this year, so get those reading longs turned in! Reading logs are due on Monday except for the last week. They will be due on that Friday.
- Kindergarten Open House/Roundup: Look for information about our annual Kindergarten Open House and Kindergarten Roundup. Information on both is coming soon!
- Head lice: The number of head lice is higher than usual. Please regularly check to ensure your child does not have head lice. Doing weekly checks is a great idea this time of the year. And remind your child not to share combs, hair accessories, or hats. Thank you!
- PTO: The PTO (parent-teacher organization) is looking for new parent recruits who want to be a part of a great group to enhance the school experience for all students! Please get in touch with Mr. Katona if you're interested in joining! Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, March 7, at 6:30 pm in the elementary teacher's lounge.
- Drop-off Lane: Parents/Guardians! Please don't leave your vehicle in the drop-off lane; pull forward to allow other vehicles to enter. This WILL help the flow of traffic.
- Cold Weather: Please send your child with a jacket and warm clothing as the weather gets cooler. Thanks!
- WIN Room Clothes: We are looking for clothes donations (pants, shirts, etc.) for our WIN room. You can drop them off in the elementary office. Thank you.
- Popcorn Fridays: Parent/Guardians, popcorn Fridays are back! Students will get a bag of popcorn one Friday of the month (usually the last Friday). We are asking for students to bring in $.25 per month to help offset the cost of the popcorn. This is not mandatory, and we thank you for your help! *Our next Popcorn Friday will be on March 24!
- Medication: Please be sure to contact the office and get the proper paperwork for any Medication disbursement or food modification forms for the kitchen. Medication can not be given without paperwork from the school signed by the physician. This includes Epi-pens and inhalers as well as prescribed and non-prescribed medication. The kitchen cannot accommodate any food modifications without the form from the school filled out by a physician.
March is Reading Month!
PTO
Are you unsure what the PTO is? The PTO, short for parent, teacher, organization, is a small group of parents meeting monthly to discuss ideas to enhance the student experience at school. Our next meeting is on Tuesday, March 7th, at 6:30 PM in the elementary staff lounge (elementary office entrance). Thanks!
