From Your Superintendent
Hornet Nation,
In this issue, our special focus is the Class of 2023. High school graduation is a rite of passage that almost all adults share, and we have launched 73 more Hornets into their futures.
While the Class of 2023 endured a health pandemic that began in the spring of their freshmen year, they also began a few new traditions. They were the first class that was able to decorate a senior parking space, and they set a high bar for artistic expression. They were also the first class that had senior picture banners hanging on the lampposts in town. This was a great way for our whole community to celebrate each of them.
At graduation, the weather cooperated beautifully and our graduates were full of smiles and a few tears. It was also a nice combination of seriousness and fun -- if you were not in attendance, ask a graduate about the golf ball prank with Mr. Ashcroft!
We wish our graduates the best of luck, and look forward to seeing them write more chapters of their future stories.
In partnership and with Hornet Pride,
Judy

Health Information
COVID-19 protocols for positive cases, staff or student:
- With a positive case, the person must isolate for 5 days and not attend or be in school. In counting those days, the first date of symptoms (or the test, if no symptoms) is day 0.
- The COVID-positive person may return to school on Day 6, assuming symptoms are subsiding. We recommend, but do not require, masking for days 6-10 in school.
We are also attaching a handy resource from public health officials that provides guidance on when to keep a child home from school in a variety of illness-related situations.
