LRP Family Update
February/March 2024
A Message from Mrs. Parent
Dear LRP Families,
Our second half of the school year is off to a great start! I wanted to share a few reminders with you all:
- Please be sure students bring appropriate cold-weather gear each day. If the wind chill is 32 or above, students go outside for recess.
- Valentine Parties are coming up on Friday, February 9th at 1:40 for our K-1 students. PK students will have their parties on Thursday, February 8th.
- Yearbooks are available for purchase. You will order under LR Upper Elementary (this includes the Primary, Elementary, and Upper). The deadline to order is March 28th!
- We would like to gently remind families with outstanding balances for the Before and After School CatCare Program to kindly settle these at your earliest convenience. Payments can be made through the ProCare App or cash/check may be brought to your child's school. Please reach out to Melissa Roberts with any questions (mroberts@logrogstudents.net).
Sincerely,
Ashley Parent

Drop Off / Pick Up Procedures
All students, preschool through first grade, will be dropped off and picked up at the north entrance of the building. Buses will unload/load near the main building entrance on the west side of the building. Please note the change in pick up and drop off locations this year due to building construction.
We will begin morning drop-off at 8:20. Please do not let your child leave your car until the teacher on duty at 8:20 starts to dismiss students. This door closes at 8:40 each morning. Anyone arriving after 8:40 must walk their child in the front entrance of the building to check him/her in with the office staff. All walkers and late drop offs (after 8:40) must use the main entrance, not the other front doors. Please do not drive around buses that are loading or unloading at any time.
During student pick-up, drivers must show a car pick-up tag with the student’s name. If you don’t have a tag, you will need to park and come into the office to pick up your child. Please be prepared to show identification to verify you are on the student’s pick up list.
If you have a change in transportation, please communicate with your child’s teacher via Seesaw before 3:00pm. If you need to change transportation after 3:00pm, please contact the school office at 417.881.2947. Changes in dismissal plans after 3:15pm will only be taken on an emergency basis.
Please watch this video to see how the car line works.
Before / After School CatCare
Both the before and after school CatCare programs will take place at the Primary School this year. The before school program runs from 7:00-8:20am and is $2.00/day. The after school program runs from 3:40-6:00pm and is $6.00/day. If students arrive before 8:20, they must go to the before school program and will be charged $2.00/day.
CatCare balances and credits will be carried over from summer school and last school year. If you are interested in sending your child to CatCare, registration forms are located on the school website under “Parent Resources”. If you have any questions regarding CatCare, you can contact Melissa Roberts, the supervising administrator for the Primary CatCare program at mroberts@logrogstudents.net.
Breakfast / Lunch Information
Primary students may eat breakfast each day from 8:20-8:40. Lunch will be served between 11:00 and 12:10, and optional snack milk will be offered in the afternoon. You are welcome to pay online at the LR school store with either a credit or debit card. You can also send payment to our school office. If you choose to send money to school, place it in an envelope with the following information: STUDENT’S NAME, TEACHER’S NAME, AND THE AMOUNT OF MONEY IN THE ENVELOPE.
Lunch balances can be viewed in the parent portal. Negative balance notifications will also be sent by email. Student accounts must maintain a positive balance in order to receive afternoon snack milk. If you have any questions regarding your child’s account balance, please contact the school office at 881.2947.
Hat / Hood Policy
Hats and hoods are not to be worn in the school building (other than hats for spirit days). If a child chooses to bring a hat for recess, it should stay in their backpack until recess time. This is a consistent expectation for all three elementary buildings. Please help us in reiterating this expectation with your child.
Attendance Policy
All students are encouraged to attend school each day, unless they are ill or otherwise excused. Most learning activities at the Primary School are hands-on and performance based. Skills learned during these times cannot be sent home or completed in worksheet form. If your child will be absent, please call the office and/or message your child's teacher.
