Superintendent's Message
Dear Bethel Families,
As we approach the end of a successful first semester, it is important to take a moment to reflect on the remarkable achievements accomplished by our students. From their outstanding academic performances to their exceptional participation in various extracurricular activities, we could not be prouder of their accomplishments. Throughout this newsletter, we will highlight the time and efforts put in by our hardworking staff and students while showcasing the positive perceptions surrounding Bethel Public Schools.
Our students have showcased remarkable academic excellence throughout this first semester. They have consistently shown dedication, hard work, and commitment to their studies and extra- curricular activities. Their achievements have not only made our school proud but have also set an excellent example for future generations. With an unwavering focus on learning, they have excelled in various subjects, consistently achieving outstanding grades. It is their persistence and desire for knowledge that sets them apart as high-achieving scholars.
Beyond academics, our students have actively participated in a diverse range of extracurricular activities. From sports to music, art, and community service, they have demonstrated their talents and passions outside the classroom. Through these activities, they have developed invaluable skills such as teamwork, leadership, time management, and perseverance. Their commitment to these pursuits has not gone unnoticed, as our school continues to receive numerous accolades and recognition in local, regional, and state competitions.
None of these achievements would be possible without the dedicated and hardworking staff who tirelessly support our students' growth and development. Our teachers, administrators, and support staff play a vital role in shaping the minds of our students. They provide them with guidance, inspiration, and the tools necessary to succeed academically and beyond. Their passion for education and commitment to our students' well-being is truly commendable.
Despite the misconceptions surrounding public school education, our Bethel School community continues to defy stereotypes and highlight the exceptional quality of education offered here. Our students' achievements are a testament to the opportunities available for growth and success in public schools. By highlighting the accomplishments of our students and the efforts of our staff, we aim to change perceptions and celebrate the positive impact of public education through our monthly newsletter.
As we near the conclusion of the first semester, it is important to celebrate the achievements of our students and recognize the hard work of our staff. Through their dedication, commitment, and perseverance, our students have excelled both academically and in extracurricular activities. It is their accomplishments that demonstrate the true value of public-school education. We are immensely proud of our students and grateful for the unwavering support of our staff. Together, we continue to inspire excellence and create a positive learning environment for all.
Remember, education is a lifelong journey, and it is through shared successes and acknowledgments that we continue to foster a love for learning and growth within our school community.
Respectfully,
Dr. Matt Posey, Superintendent

November Masters of Manners
Congratulations to our November Masters of Manners! They were recognized at Wednesday with Wilbur for having a giving heart!
Celebrating Good Manners & Behavior
Mrs. Affentranger enjoyed celebrating good manners and behavior for the 1st quarter! For six weeks, students worked hard to earn "heart" punches on their "happles." Students who earned 5-6 heart punches were able to attend the PrinciPAL's Manners Event. Mrs. Affy read "Recess Queen" and "Jungle Bullies" to the students. Then, they danced to a couple of monkey-themed brain breaks!
Fire Prevention Week
The Bethel Acres Fire Department hosted our PreK and Kindergarten classes at the fire station. The volunteer firefighters taught students about fire safety and show them their equipment and trucks. On campus, they hosted Fire Safety Jeopardy for our first and second graders and judged a Fire Prevention coloring contest for all students.
The Shawnee Fire Department brought their clown show to our school. This fun and entertaining show concluded our Fire Prevention Week!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Remember to please not drop your child off at school prior to 7:35 a.m. and make all after school transportation arrangements PRIOR to school. Calls to the office to let your child know how to get home are a big disruption to the classroom and the learning environment.
THANKSGIVING BREAK is November 20-24
There will be NO SCHOOL that week. Enjoy the holiday!
The Wednesday Parent Communication Folders go home every Wednesday. Please remember to check all materials in the folder and sign and return to your child’s teacher the following day. All important information will be in the folder each week.
ATTENDANCE is a must for a student to be successful academically. Please have your child to school each day and on time. Those students that miss even a portion of the day miss instruction which adversely affects their academic success.
Please remember to “like” the Bethel Upper Elementary Facebook page. We post important information on the site. Also, parent communications will be sent via email and text. If you have not received any emails or texts, please contact Mrs. Campbell at Ext 1100 to update your information.
