Happy Friday Charger Families!
This morning at Charge Up, PTO recognized our Counselors, Becky Shryock and Allie Nobles, as well as our School Psychologist, Hailey Dioguardi, for the multitude of things that do for our students and community every day. In addition, members from Edmond Memorial's were at school to share information of this year's Swine Week recipient Peaceful Family along with some of the activities that will be occurring from now through Spring Break. I've attached a flyer for outlining those events below in this newsletter if you would like to participate. The Daddy Daughter Dance is scheduled for This Saturday, Feb. 10 from 6:00 to 8:00.
Also, we want thank everyone that participated in the Super Bowl Penny Wars that we conducted all this week. The PTO was able to announce this afternoon that the Chiefs won with a total of $464.24 over the 49ers with $181.89. The total raised from this week-long fundraiser was $646.13. We will run another Penny War in March with OU, OSU and the Thunder. All the monies raised from these fundraisers will be donated to Memorial and their Swine Week fundraiser this year.
In an effort to recognize our amazing substitutes, our PTO will be recognizing substitutes with a monthly drawing and a gift card of appreciation. This month's winner was Robin Murray who won a Subway gift card. Thank you Mrs. Murray, for all the classrooms you cover throughout the year and in particular the winter months where we see an uptick in absences!
The February PTO meeting was held this past Monday in our cafeteria., and the minutes from this meeting are added in the newsletter along with those from previous meetings throughout the year.
Justin Coffelt, the Director of Operations from our district Administrative Center was on hand to speak about the upcoming Bond Election scheduled for coming Tuesday, November 13. Included in this $144 million dollar proposal is a plan for a new Elementary and Middle school, which will help alleviate some of the growth we've seen in recent years. If your child attends an Emond School, you will be able to vote at your normal polling place this coming Tuesday.
This is just a reminder that Valentines day parties will take place on Wednesday, February 14. Pre-K parties will begin at 11:45 and Kindergarten through 5th grade parties will start around 2:35.
The February Smart Social Tip added to this newsletter has information on Instagram that could be helpful for parents to monitor student use on this social media platform. This information can be found in the newsletters for the month. There is also a link to sign up for Smart Social information for those parents looking for information on similar topics.
I do want to let you know that we will be sending devices home today, on the small chance Sunday weather could impact in person learning on Monday. If we do go remote, please be on the lookout for an email from your student's teacher. Make sure to send your student's device back to school for in person learning.
Have a great weekend!

Dismissal Reminder for Spring Hill/ Old Farm/ Thornbrook walkers should only be used by students that live in those areas. If your student doesn't live in those neighborhoods they need to either use bus or car rider to get home at the end of the day. We don't want to send students into a neighborhood that don't live in that neighborhood.
Calling all Substitutes - If you are interested in becoming a substitute, as a classroom teacher or classroom assistant, or even if you want to inquire more about the possibility of becoming a substitute in the future, please click on this link or you can call the school. The district has recently approved some additional incentives ( Subs now get paid twice a month and if you work 6 out of 10 days in a pay period, they can now earn an addition $100 in the pay period).
The order link for the 2023-24 Chisholm Yearbook is also included in this newsletter. The order deadline for purchasing a yearbook won't occur until February or March, but you can take care of this item at this time.
