Ranger Patrons,
I hope this newsletter finds you coming off of an enjoyable spring break! The Ranger staff looks forward to the return of our students on Monday, April 5 (black schedule and 5th grade in-person) or Tuesday, April 6 (gold schedule). The gold/black schedule for 6th through 8th grades will continue through the remaining eight weeks of school. The weekly schedule with alternating Fridays may be found further down in this newsletter.
ILEARN testing. Practice tests will be given the week of April 12 with the actual test beginning the week of April 19. In-person students will test over a series of consecutive instructional days during the morning and then engage in live instruction for the remainder of the day.
Virtual students will be taking the practice and actual tests at Raymond Park on targeted dates. ILEARN information for virtual students at each grade level was provided in an email to virtual families on March 25. Families of both in-person and virtual students that have questions are encouraged to contact their student's grade level counselor. Contact information is provided at the bottom of this newsletter.
Safety. Marion County and Raymond Park Covid numbers look good, but this is no time to let down our pandemic guard! RP will continue to follow the SAFE Reopening Plan for the remainder of the school year to better ensure everyone's safety during the pandemic. Students are reminded that face masks and social distancing are required. Frequent handwashing and sanitizing will also be scheduled into the daily schedule. All MSD of Warren Township staff and students should wear face masks unless an extenuating circumstance exists and a face shield is needed. School administrators may approve the use of a face shield in these cases.
Students should not attend school if they are close contacts to a positive Covid case, are awaiting results of a Covid test or exhibit two or more of the following: ● A fever of 100.0° F or greater ● Cough ● Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing ● Sore throat ● Fatigue ● Chills ● Muscle or body aches ● Headache ● Congestion or runny nose ● Nausea or vomiting ● Diarrhea ● New loss of taste or smell.

Incoming kindergarten students (age five before October 1) and their families are invited to attend Kindergarten Kick-off on Monday, April 19, from 5:30-7:00 p.m., happening at all nine of our elementary school locations. Take a school tour, meet our kindergarten team, and get all of your questions answered about kindergarten. Online Kindergarten Enrollment opens April 5.
There are 8 full weeks of school left in the 20-21 school year. RP students and staff have much left to learn and accomplish in those remaining 40 school days. Thank you, caregivers, for your ongoing support of our school model by making sure that students are attending school on live instruction days and supplementing their learning through on-time completion of application day assignments.
