The Mustang Minute
September 26th, 2021
From the Principals' Offices...
We've got another GREAT week in the books at Genoa City Joint 2 School District!
Students and staff in both buildings had an awesome time this week participating in our Gold Walk, an event to raise awareness for Pediatric Cancer. Special thanks to Ms. Mohr and her Leadership Team for their efforts in putting this event together!
The good news is that the fun doesn't stop there! Coming up this Friday, October 1st, we'll be hosting the Ready, Set, Glow Fall Fun Run. This is an event for all families, students, and friends of Genoa City. All ages are welcome to join in the fun as they walk or run the course. Registration begins at 6:30pm and the walk/run officially starts at 7:00pm. The cost is $5 per person or $10 per family. Proceeds to benefit the Brookwood Family Organization.
Here's to enjoying this amazing fall weather and the rest of the weekend, Mustangs!

BMS Parking Lot Safety Update
Mustang Families: we have made some minor adjustments to our parking lot drop off and pick up routine that we believe will contribute to a better flow for all. Please read the bullet points below for details.
AM DROP OFF:
- Parents Drop Offs (ALL GRADES): Please enter in the south entrance ONLY. Pull all the way up in front of the building in a single file line to drop your child off. We thank you for not pulling around other cars to skip ahead in line, as this presents an added safety hazard for our kids. Please also refrain from parking in the line for an extended time during drop off so that we can move the line along efficiently.
PM PICK UP:
- Parent Pick Ups (ALL GRADES): Please enter the lot through the south entrance. Form a single file line in front of the building, without obstructing the crosswalks. You may leave as soon as your student enters your vehicle, but please mind the crosswalks as you depart the lot.

Academic Lab & Late Bus for BMS Students
The "Late Bus" will also be running to drop off students at home. The late bus will cover the entire district, so the ride home will be a little longer than normal, but it will provide a transportation option for students who have not been able to stay after school for activities or extra help because they didn’t have a ride home. The late bus will be available to all students, grades 4-8, on Mondays-Thursdays, and departs from BMS promptly at 4:30pm.
Please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Franz for questions: tori.franz@gcj2.k12.wi.us
