The Trip to the Perot
Field Trip
Our group in front of the Lynda Hill Gems and Minerals Hall
This exhibit was on the third floor and genuinely fascinated everyone in the group. This large gem was the unanimous vote in terms of where to take the group picture because of its glittering awesome appearance. The gem not only glitters magnificently commanding attention to itself, but it also opens and closes with the turn of a wheel.
We found a dinasour... or 8...
I found the big T-Rex to be rather fascinating, so i chose this big guy to take my dinosour selfie with. This exhibit was located at the T. Boone Pickens Then and Now Hall on level 4 of the museum. This was the first exhibit we visited as a group. I am in this picture because it was supposed to be a selfie.
The Interactive "Build Your Own Dinosaur and have it virually fight" game
Lydia began playing this game as soon as we got to the dinosaur exhibit, and appeared to be rather fascinated by it, so Destiny and I had decided to go check out what the concept of the game was. The general idea revolves around creating your own dinosaur and having it compete against a predator to see which would win. This game teaches kids about the various types of dinosaurs' which existed in the Paleolithic period while simultaneously allowing children to be creative by imagining their own creature. It was a unique game suitable to educate people of all ages.
This Water Cycle
This water cycle featurette was incuded in the Rees-Jones Foundation Dynamic Earth Hall on the third floor. It was basically an ice cube being steamed by a heater intended to turn it into a liquid. This is intended to teach about the water cycle with a simple example of how it works.
Human Philosophy paragraph that interested me...
This exhibit is located in the being human hall of the museum. The exhibit was filled with fascinating information on the human body as well as the human mind. I saw this little detail and thought it posed an interesting question. Therefore, I felt obligated to take a photo. I enjoy psychology and the factors that define humanity interest me a lot. Destiny and I saw enjoyed the facts of this exhibit.
Gasoline and Fuel
This feature was located in the Tom Hunt Energy Hall which featured the carious types of energy usage in the United States as well as how much of it is used on a daily basis and how it is attained. This very light up display caught all of our attention because it was such a foreign concept to us all until we went and read about it. Destiny, Lydia, Me, Victor, Chelsea, Claudia, and Paulina all walked into this exhibit and were shocked about how many types of energy existed as well as how much the United States alone uses on a daily basis.
