Unit 19 Research Report Presentations Due Next Week in Writing Skills

You should have finished drafting your research report on an US state this past week, March 22-28. Next week you will begin a unit on presentation skills. The final presentation will be due on Wednesday, April 10.

3rd Grade Science with Mrs. Fields

Hello 3rd Grade Scientists!

Last week: We went over the moon phases and reviewed the water cycle. We had a fun review game with Snakes and Ladders!

Learning Points to Remember: The moon phases are caused by our view of the Sun's light shining on the moon. A lunar eclipse is caused when the Earth's shadow falls on the moon. A solar eclipse occurs when the moon is blocking our view of the sun.

Next week: We will start in on Unit 10 Force and Motion

Extra Credit: Some students asked if they could do the solar system project for extra credit. You are cleared for take off! If you create a model of the solar system in which the planets are in the correct order next to the sun I will add a 5 point grade as extra credit. This is an OPTIONAL activity! Email me pictures of your project or upload them into the OLS.

I will accept this project at any point throughout the remainder of the year.

3rd Grade Social Studies with Mrs. Lipscomb

Hello 3rd graders, this week we are beginning unit 7 – Communities Over Time:

Lesson 1: Learning About the Past

During class on Friday, April 5th, we will look at how some things in a community stay the same while other things change over time. We will use a time line to describe historical events in terms of years, decades, and centuries.

Every week you will check the grade level newsletter to see which Music Studio lessons to complete. Just open Unit 1, Lesson 1 in the OLS and click the link to take you to Music Studio! (This is why everything in the OLS for Music EXCEPT for Unit 1, Lesson 1 has been marked skipped.)

I update the gradebook on Friday afternoons. Check the gradebook on Monday morning to see your updated Music grade.

3rd Grade Health/PE/Art with Ms. Buchanan

Happy Friday!!!

We will continue practicing in Zoom next week in Art. I will keep the Health Activity Book attached so that you use with some of your OLS lessons.

If your grades seem lower than expected please check your TGAs. For PE please make sure you have been marking your weekly lesson complete. If you are missing a PE TGA please email me to let me know if you have been doing your daily activity each week.
