Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers the launch of #AmbitionForAll. Throughout October we will be highlighting the achievements of our students. We will also have exciting events going on in school. We will keep you up to date with these events through the Snapshot, the school website and Twitter.

Festo Engineering Trip

A group of our Year 7 students visited Festo, a leading world-wide supplier of automation technology in Northampton to talk to its staff and learn about the technology they use

Red Box Project

This initiative quietly ensures that no young woman misses out on her education because of her period. We are very pleased to be part of such an important project and contribute to our society.

Humanities Heroes

We are celebrating everyday people who have made extraordinary achievements to help inspire our students. Here we are showcasing Junko Tabei who was the first woman to climb Everest in 1975.

Students:

Mr Cox has nominated Year 9 student Ana for a great score on her end of topic test in science. Also nominated are the Year 10 Scientists who have been working hard devising their mock coursework pieces.
Mr Harley has nominated Year 7 Cjay, Amie, Jess and Oscar who have made some very creative designs for their badges inspired by the designer Dame Zaha Hadid in Design and Technology after studying her work.
Miss Benson has nominated Year 7 student Annie for achieving 20/20 on her Geography homework and a great start this term.
Mrs Ferns has nominated Year 8 student Holly for a fantastic end of term test result of 90% in Maths.
Miss Watt has nominated Year 9 students Emma and Carmen for fabulous commitment and effort in German.
Miss McGrath has nominated Year 13 Biologists for producing great sketches of pancreas cells. also nominated are Year 11 combined science groups for using the reflection sessions effectively and as a result improving their knowledge of their course.
Mr Godfrey has nominated Year 12 student Tomasz for supporting his peers how in completing complicated Maths problems.
Mr Jackson has nominated Year 9 student Sam for achieving grade 8 in his end of term Maths assessment.
Mr Roger has nominated Year 7 student Thomas for his fantastic achievement at beating his personal best in the 100m butterfly, also nominated are Year 9 and 10 GCSE PE groups for planning excellent sessions for activity week next week.
Mr Gourlay has nominated Year 7 students Michal and Jasmine for going above and beyond in their scratch virtual pet project in Computing.

CTS Production - High School Musical

The final cast has been announced and rehearsals have begun on this year's Drama production of High School Musical.

Target Ambassadors

Our ‘Target’ Ambassadors delivered an assembly about online safety. The students have been working with Service Six on the subject and shared information about how to stay safe online with their peers.

Attendance Matters

Every single day a student is absent from school equates to a day lost of learning. At Corby Technical School we pride ourselves in maintaining excellent attendance. Our target is to achieve and maintain a whole school attendance of above 96.5%. We will be giving you weekly updates on our whole school attendance, the tutor group and house who achieved the highest attendance this week.
