MEGA LUNCH INFORMATION
We have suspended Mega Lunch until further notice. Sometimes, we all need a reminder about the phrase "with freedom comes great responsibility."
Tutorials and meetings next week will have to be before or after school if needed.
We all want this time back!!! It is our hope that our students will take some steps to make this happen. Parents, if you will help go over the following guidelines with your student as a reminder of the expectations we went over with your student the first week of school.
- We have a beautiful building and it needs to stay that way. Students must remember to pick up their trash from lunch and throw it away.
- We want students out of the areas that are the "no-go zones" (a big one is the parking lot that is a "no-go zone.")
- We want students to respect one another with words and actions.
- We want students to go to alternative and action lunch times as assigned.
- We want students to handle student business like restroom and office visits so they are not tardy to 4th/5th period.
- We want students to be ON-TIME all the time.
- WISD is bound by our Federal Food and Nutrition Guidelines while on campus during the school day. We need families to stop bringing in food from restaurants for students (deliveries are not allowed unless it is an emergency situation like, "they forgot their lunch.") With this- you can ONLY bring food for your student, not 3 others...aka "food sharing." The reason has to do with the laws and regulations that govern our health.
- We want students respecting each other by only holding hands or sitting next to one another.
- We want students to take advantage of the time and go to tutorials and club events. If not, we want them to find a spot and stay there to visit with friends.
- We want students to be on time throughout each period, stay in class, and do the right thing during the school day.

Support Our Troops, Recycle Your Cell Phones
Do you have any old or unused cellphones around your house? If you do, Outreach Club is having a cell-phone drive for soldiers both active duty and veterans so they can stay in touch with their families. There will be drop off boxes to collect these in classroom F111; the front office; and the PASS office (across from the Counselors' office). We need your old cell phones to be donated to help keep these soldiers in touch.
JOIN DECA
DECA is going to have a team doing a financial simulator. All students are invited to participate. October 7th would be the last opportunity to accept students into the group for the fall team.

Deadline to apply for the Youth Advisory Council
The deadline for applications for the Youth Advisory Council has been extended. Please see Mrs. Sweeney in E226 or Ms. Ornales in F213 to get an application, turn in an application, or ask questions. Remember that you have to have a teacher/coach/administrator recommendation. This is a great opportunity to impact the community beyond WHS and to be a voice for the younger members of our community. Members of the YAC will meet in city council chambers and even have their own nameplates at their seat. Please note that applicants must reside within Weatherford city limits in order to serve on the council.
