We are excited to announce that we will offer academic support to our Newark Tech scholars in Math, Science, and English beginning Monday, December 18th. These services will be provided before school, after school, in the evenings (virtually), and on weekends, and it will undoubtedly be incredibly beneficial for our scholars.
This initiative reflects our commitment to the success and growth of our scholars. It aligns with our efforts to foster an environment where students can excel and receive the necessary guidance to thrive academically. Thank you to our teachers who signed up to support this initiative!

Muhammad Ali once said that “Service to others is the RENT you pay for the space you take up on earth”
On Wednesday, November 22nd the students and faculty at Newark Tech collectively “PAID THEIR RENT” for the month. Thank you to all our our students and teachers that brought in non-perishable food items in support of our National Honor Society Can Food Drive.
All of the items we donated were given to the St. James Social Service Organization located on 604 MLK Blvd Newark, NJ. We were honored to have my Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Sister & Executive Director of St James - Ms. Vesta Godwin-Clark on hand to greet our scholars and to thank the entire school for their acts of kindness.. 🙏🏾
Looking forward to our continued partnership with an organization that truly goes above and beyond to feed those who are in hungry in the city of Newark.
Hispanic Heritage Celebration at Newark Tech
We had an AMAZING time during the Newark Tech Hispanic Heritage program this week. While we celebrated for the entire month of September & October our closing celebration had to be postponed on multiple occasions due to academic conflicts with in the building. Nevertheless, we still wanted to press forward and host the performance even if it was past the traditional celebration window and our students did not disappoint. Our theme this year was “Driving Prosperity Progress and Power in America.”
It’s refreshing to see our scholars embracing their culture. As the Principal I remind our scholars daily that diversity and inclusivity is our strength and it’s at the core of who we are as Terriers. When we are inclusive of those from different backgrounds, races, and religions, we build understanding instead of hate. Big shout out to Ms. Chapman, Ms. Mellakh, Ms. Zayas, Ms. Mendez, Ms. Ogozalek, Ms. Gavilanes, Ms. Ayzanoa, Ms. Mayor, the I.T. department, and all the staff that participated in this event. Happy Hispanic Heritage Month
OUTSTANDING JOB!

Our student body got an opportunity to participate in the traditional grade level Musical Chairs Challenge & of course the infamous Tug of War battle. Congratulations to our Senior Class 204 for once again bringing home the title.
Newark Tech School Fair
I want to express the immense pride and admiration I felt this weekend as I stood on the stage and watched a packed gymnasium of @essexcountyschoolsoftechnology - Newark Tech students, teachers, and future Terriers during our Annual District Open House. The unwavering support, dedication, and enthusiasm of our teachers and scholars were the cornerstone of this event's success. The collective effort and commitment displayed by everyone involved left a lasting impact as we showcased our Career Tech Programs, our academic course offerings, our clubs, sports teams, and facilities to our visitors, guests, and future Terriers.
The collaborative efforts of our teachers and scholars fostered a welcoming atmosphere and created an environment where our visitors could truly experience the essence of our school community. If you want additional information about our school, please log on to Essextech.org and click Admission
