Spirit Week Schedule:

In order for us to support Homecoming Week for Cambridge-Isanti, we will be joining the high school on a number of their theme days. Here are the themes for each day:

Monday: Class Color Day: Wear something that matches your grade’s color:

K-2 = Green

Third Grade =Yellow

Fourth Grade = Red

Fifth Grade = Blue

Tuesday: Tacky Tuesday-Don’t be afraid to wear some bizarre mismatched clothing.

Wednesday: Sports Gear Wednesday: Wear your favorite sports attire

Thursday: Twinning Thursday You and your friend dress alike. Can we tell who’s who?

Friday: School Spirit Day- Homecoming -Wear Blue and White!

PLC: (2:35-3:20): This week we will be reviewing student data to make instructional decisions. We will meet in the Main Office Conference Room

2017-2018 School year:

What are the strategies and techniques we will use to monitor the growth of each student on the essential benchmarks for our grade or department? What are we going to do together to make sure all students grow at a high level to meet or exceed state standards?

This week we will learn more about the Bluejacket Brainstorm, Reviewing Fall Benchmark Data, and Making Instructional Decisions based on Data.

This week during PLC we will be reviewing Fall Benchmark Student Data as part our monthly Student Assistance Team meeting and making instructional. decisions as a PLC.

We will also be reviewing and considering the new Innovation Program starting in our school district called Bluejacket Brainstorm. Kristin Daniels and Shelley Schwab will be presenting on this topic at our Wednesday Faculty Meeting.

After our Compass Learning Training last Friday we will be making instructional decisions about how to incorporate it in our reading and math blocks to individualize instruction for our students.

Fall Conferences for Isanti Intermediate School begin on October 10 and end on October 17. Teachers will be scheduling times to meet with parents to set goals for students as a result of the fall bench-marking period that was completed in September. Parents and teachers will work together to develop instructional plans that will help each student reach their academic goals established at the fall conference. Thank you for your work to help develop a rigorous learning path for each student.

Our Fall Book Fair will be held October 10-17 and it will be in the Media Center. Students can shop on selected nights during conferences or during selected times during the school day. All profits from the Book fair are used to purchase additional books for our school library.

We will be visiting more classrooms to collect data as part of our Literacy Collaborative. A schedule will be sent out once the details of the second round of visits is established. We will be using the information we gain to help guide the development of our literacy plans moving forward. Thanks for your help!

This is a special week for our school district as it marks our annual week of Homecoming. Our school will be participating by having a couple of special days designated to help us join in the celebration. We are asking everyone to wear something that represents your favorite team or group. On Friday we will be asking all staff and students to wear blue in honor of Bluejacket Homecoming Day. At 9:50, the Homecoming Royalty, Pep-Band, and Cheerleaders will be in our gymnasium leading our school in a pep-fest. The high school has asked each wing to provide me with 5 student names to give shout-outs to for being a great example of Bluejacket Pride with the high school students calling them out for recognition.

Thank you for patience last week with NWEA MAP testing. It is our goal this week to complete testing by Wednesday. Thank you to everyone who has worked hard to be flexible and helpful during this testing window. We appreciate you!

When you are recycling as a classroom remember that only paper will be recycled in the recycling containers. Any other foreign items included with the paper to be recycled makes the bins unable to be processed at the recycling center. Remind all students that are emptying the recycling bins to not overload the recycling containers to prevent littering the school grounds. Thank you for your help!

SFAS K-2 Primary Students:

Second Grade-Reagan Snow-Recognized this week for working hard and participating in class.

First Grade-Meghan Currie-Recognized for being a great helper who listens and is always on task. She always has a beautiful smile on her face.

Kindergarten-Abigail Millsap-She is being recognized for demonstrating responsibility in the hallway and in the classroom.

Our staff members of the week are instructional assistants who help students and staff at Isant Intermediate School. Our Staff Members of the Week are Carla Swanson, Taylor Japp, and Jessica Lieske. Each of them show Bluejacket Pride by demonstrating patience, optimism and ready smiles! We appreciate each of them and are glad they are part of our team this year!
