Reminders:
Dress Code Reminders
- Each year Jesse Owens sells a Spirit shirt as a fundraiser - usually associated with the theme of the year. We ask that on Fridays that students wear a JOES Spirit shirt purchased from JOES any year ( past spirit shirts are acceptable). Again, this is a fundraiser and we will have special days for other shirts like GHS shirts. Also, on Tech Tuesday (any Tuesday) for $1 any shirt can be worn.- Sweatshirts, jackets to be worn in the building must be solid uniform colors with no writing OR JOES sweatshirts. No Hoodies are allowed.
ID Reminder:
- Students need their Id for several reasons:
- scan for breakfast.
- scan for lunch.
- Log into Google Classroom.
- Check out a library book.
-Return a library book.
The cost of replacement:
- $3 for an ID
- $2 lanyard (must be School issued)
- $1 for the plastic ID holder.
For a total of $6 if you need everything.
It would be a huge help if students kept their ID in the same place in their bookstack every day. That way when they get to school for breakfast they know exactly where it is.
Thank you for your support.
The pamphlet sales were Fantastic thank you all for supporting JOES!!
Final Push Ticket Sales Incentive:
As of 2/28 JOES has sold 819 Tickets!!!!!! Remember Goal is to surpass 900 sold last year.
Final Push Ticket Sale Incentive wil be the weekend of March 18-19.
2 tickets sold will receive 2 free dress days.
4 tickets sold will receive the free dress days & an extra recess.
Return tickets on Monday 3/20 with payment of $10 per ticket.
The Drawing will be held at Mendoza Ford in Maurice on April 1, 2023!!
VPSB Mendoza Car Raffle
The Mendoza Car Raffle is a wonderful opportunity for Jesse Owens to raise money. Each year this is by far our biggest fundraiser. Last Year JOES sold 900 tickets.
This year there are some fantastic prizes - besides the Ford Bronco. We are looking to surpass last years 900 with a GOAL of 920. If every student sold at least 5 tickets we could easily reach that goal. Every little bit helps so Thank you all for working so hard to help support JOES.
Fundraisers
All Fundraisers help provide funds for instructional materials, operating expenses, motivational incentives for students and staff, and other expenses that are not funded through other sources.
Jean Days: Students may wear blue jeans (NO SHORTS) for $1 on Fridays with a JOES Spirit Shirt or uniform shirt. JOES spirit shirts can be worn every Friday for free with uniform bottoms. (Only the jeans cost $1- $35 for the year)
Tech Tuesday T-Shirts: Students may wear any T-shirt (appropriate according to the uniform policy) for $1with uniform bottoms . All funds raised for Tech Tuesday go to the JOES Technology fund. You can send 1 payment of $34 for the year.
Concession Sales: Students may purchase individually wrapped snacks during recess. All snacks are $1.00. Please make certain that you send snack money with your child in the morning. Free Fundraisers
Please continue to help Jesse Owens Elementary raise funds at no extra expense to you. Ask your family and friends to do the same. Your trash can be our treasure!!!
Box Tops: No more clipping. No more sending Box Tops to school. All you need is your phone. Download the ALL-NEW Box Tops app, shop as you normally would, then simply scan your store receipts to find participating products. The app will automatically credit your school's Box Tops earnings online.
Forward your email receipt to receipts@boxtops4education.com using the same email that's associated with your BTFE account.
Community Coffee Labels: Cut Community Coffee Products UPC labels. Proceeds help fund the AR and Library programs.
Coca-Cola Products: You can scan or enter Coca Cola product codes directly to the Coca-Cola app. Or search coca cola give to schools for donation to Jesse Owens Elementary or send the codes in to JOES. Proceeds help fund instructional materials, operating expenses, motivational incentives for staff and students and other expenditures that are not funded through other sources.
Scan codes in caps and in the boxes of Coca Cola products to donate to Jesse Owens Elementary. If you would prefer to save the caps and bring them to us we will scan them in.
At the end of November we received a check in the mail from Coca Cola for $46.00 - Free money from the entry of codes!!! Thank you for all who save and enter codes!!
