Morning and Afternoon Traffic Safety Notes
We have a few parents who are using the staff parking lots for student drop off. Please use the Kiss and Ride Lane for student drop -off and pick-up. Also, students should not be left at the school without supervision before 7:45 a.m. for their safety. There is no supervision for students prior to 7:45 a.m.
Please use the Kiss and Ride lane for student drop off and pick up. Students should not cross from the staff parking lot to the school for their safety.
Staff Parking Lot
The parking lot in front of the school (closest to 4th Division Road-Formerly Chesnut Road) is for staff parking only. This parking lot is not for the use of student drop off or pick up. In addition, the side parking lot should not be used for student drop off.
Traffic Flow for Arrival and Dismissal
Please click on the map showing how traffic should flow for the Kiss & Ride arrival and dismissal at CCP. There are no left turns allowed from 4th Division Road (formerly Chesnut Road) thirty minutes before and after dismissal (2:30-3:30 on regular days; 1:45-2:45 on early release days). Overflow traffic will use the MS Teen Center parking lot lane as shown on the map. Parents who pick up / drop off their children by car at CCP may call the main office if they have questions about the traffic flow.
Concerns with traffic on 4th Division Road
Concerns with the crossing guard and the flow of traffic on 4th Division Road should be addressed to the MP's office. These areas do not fall under the school's purview.

Classlink
What is Classlink:
Classlink is a single sign-on solution that makes it easier for students to access other products, without having to log into them each time. Once a user has logged into their Google account or they use a Quickcard, in the case of second graders, this grants students access to the Classlink home screen. Then, students can click on the different icons and this will sign them into the application. If the student is not properly logged into their Google account, they will not have access to Classlink.
Logging into Classlink with a Chromebook:
Students can log into their Google account on a Chromebook. Once they are logged in, they can access Classlink by clicking on the Classlink icon at the bottom of the school’s website: https://pinckneyes.dodea.edu/ .
Logging into Classlink on a Computer:
On a computer, students can log into a browser (Chrome is best) with their Google account, navigate to the website at https://pinckneyes.dodea.edu/ ,
and click on the Classslink icon at the bottom of the page.
Just a note: Logging into an organization-managed machine will give the student a different experience than using their own device at home. Therefore, the instructions above may not be how the family’s personal device operates with the Google account or Classlink.

Addendum to Student-Parent Handbook (effective 9/16/2024)
Student Rights and Responsibilities
This section provides clarity regarding distractions to the learning environment. Students shall comply with policies, procedures, and standards for student behavior.
Distractions to the learning environment must be eliminated to the best extent possible. Administration will use discernment and the guidelines below to determine if an action or item is a distraction. Parents will be informed according to the disciplinary plan for the classroom and school.
Description of Distractions to the Learning Environment
An action or item is deemed a distraction if it falls into one of the following categories. Please note that this list of categories is not all-inclusive.
1-Item/Action is getting in the way of someone hearing, seeing, or participating in activities in the learning environment.
2-Item/Action not aligned with the educational activities. Specifically, an item is being used as a play toy or the action is playful in nature and not a part of the learning activities.
3-Item/Action is a safety concern for the student or others.
4-Item/Action becomes the focus of students in the learning environment instead of on-going educational activities/ instruction.

After-School Detention at CCP
After-school detention will be added as a new disciplinary intervention as of October 21st at CCP. This means that as principal I will now have the option of using after-school detention to address disciplinary infractions that rise to that level of needed intervention. I provided an example in an email sent to all parents on October 4th from the Administrative Table of Consequences for Pre-K-grade 5 of using after-school detention in lieu of two days of lunch detention. This is an example to show where after-school detention could be used. As principal, I will use my discernment on a case-by-case basis in assigning after-school detention. Please let me know if you have any questions.
