Hello Pirate family!!!! I hope this newsletter finds you well and enjoying the summer months. I can't believe that we are only a few short weeks away from the beginning of the school year. Below, you will find some useful information to help plan moving forward. I hope the remaining weeks of summer are full of family, fun, and laughter!! In the meantime, feel free to give us a call if you need anything.

Student schedules will be released electronically on August 5th at 5:00 pm. Our counselors are working extremely hard to try and fulfill all requests. However, there are times in which classes conflict and we won't be able to meet every request. We will continue to do our best!

On July 19th, LCISD will start the verification process. Please ensure that all information is updated and accurate. Verification must be completed and immunizations must be current in order for your child's schedule to be released. Please refer to the "note from the nurse" below.

All seventh grade students must be up-to-date on 7th grade required vaccines (tDap & MCV) before they will receive their schedules. If you have any questions, please contact Kristy Rose, Director of Health Services at krose@lcisd.net.

MONDAY, AUGUST 14

The transition to sixth grade can be overwhelming! To make sure your child has a great start to the school year, we have planned a Sixth Grade Orientation Camp exclusively for sixth grade students. Students will tour the campus, visit classrooms and teachers, and meet new friends. When they come to Orientation Camp, they will learn how LBMS operates and get information that will help them have a successful start to the new school year.

TIME

1:00-5:00 p.m.

*Drop off at the front of the building - 12:30-12:45 p.m.

*Parent meeting at 4:15 (see below)

WHAT TO BRING

-pen or pencil

-towel

-money for Kona Ice if you wish to participate - $5.00

*A snack will be provided.

Scan below if you are a 6th grader interested in buying a shirt for orientation. This is not mandatory. All orders must be submitted by July 27th.

AUGUST 14

An informational meeting (optional) will be held in the LBMS Cafetorium from 4:15-5:00 p.m.

Open House for sixth grade students and parents will be from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Students will have the opportunity to take their parents and/or guardians on a tour to meet their teachers.

**If your child is in pre-athletics, there will be quick informational meetings held in the main gym at 6:00 pm.

August 28

5:00-6:00 pm

Students will have the opportunity to lead their families around campus to meet their teachers. Feel free to come and go as you please. We look forward to seeing you!

**If your child is in athletics, please see the "athletic meeting" note below.**

If your child will be enrolled in 7th or 8th grade athletics, there will be a parent meeting on Monday, August 7th from 6:00-7:00 pm to discuss various topic such as tryouts, communication methods, equipment needed, paperwork, physicals, etc.

All students involved in 6th grade pre-athletics or 7th/8th grade athletics need to have an updated physical on file. Before any athlete can practice or tryout, they must have a completed physical. There is a form linked that you can print off and take to your doctor if need be.

6th graders in pre-athletics

You will need to submit a "hard copy" of your physical to your coach.

7th and 8th graders in athletics

Rank One online forms must be finished ASAP. If you already have an account, simply login or use the "lost password" feature. You can upload your physical into Rank One. Instructions are in a file attachment below.

***You only need to upload the side of the form with the physician signature. The medical history side of the form will be completed in an electronic format on a following page.***
