Term 2 Week 2, 2021
"We Care"
Message from Mrs Rogers
Welcome to the Term 2 Week 2 edition of Peek at the Creek. I hope you all had a nice holiday break with your children and feel ready for the busy term ahead.
Thank you to all of our students and parents who helped us commemorate ANZAC Day today. The floral tribute was absolutely beautiful. Mrs Neary will take the flowers to Memory Park in Penrith this afternoon. Thank you also to Mrs Blakeley for a beautiful service.
Next Wednesday we will be holding our AGM and next P&C meeting. We are hoping to get more interest and parents attending. In our last newsletter I asked you for feedback to improve our P&C. It's not too late.. We would truly love to hear from you. Would you like to attend but worried about the commitment? Can you not attend the 8.30am time or not available Wednesday? Are you not sure how a P&C works and not confident in coming along? Would you like us to offer our meeting via Zoom so you can attend remotely? If you think P&C is something you might like to join but have a concern or reason why you can't please call the office and speak to Mrs Visser or myself. We are flexible with days and times and happy to make changes to suit the majority of parents. Meetings are casual and friendly and your chance to hear about what is happening and voice your opinion.
At this next P&C meeting a decision will be made as to whether we continue on with our P&C or we close the P&C. If we do decide to close the P&C the school will still hold Parent Information Sessions and parents will have opportunities to support the school in other ways.
With Mothers' Day around the corner we need your help with the running of the Mothers' Day stall on Friday 7 May. If you will be available to help from 9.20am to 11.20am please phone Mrs Visser so we can add your name to the list and be sure that we can go ahead with this event.
Thank you to all our parents who have been patient with our afternoon pick up. You are all doing an amazing job and it has been working well! Please remember that whilst Sydney Water are working on Cross Street do not come to school before 3.20pm to pick up your child. Children should be picked up between 3.20pm and 3.40pm. There is aslo no parking in the afternoon to ensure the safety of all children. Please collect your child from the Kiss and Drop.
Envelopes for the Stewart House Raffle will be sent home today. Stewart House provide services to children from the public education system in NSW and the ACT who would benefit from a positive intervention to build their self esteem and personal development. The service is a holistic model of care. Children stay at Stewart House for a period of two weeks. During that time they undertake a range of activities that include:
- Recreational and social activities to build self-esteem and resilience;
- Learning/school activities for social and emotional skills development;
- Health screening (including medical, dental and optometric).
If you would like to participate please return the envelope by Thursday 6 May.
I would like to wish all of our Mothers and Grandmothers a happy Mothers' Day. It's your day to relax and be spoiled by your families!
Regards,
Mrs Amanda Rogers

School Attendance
To encourage good attendance at KCPS we will be giving out attendance awards starting from next term. Awards will be given to all students with 100% attendance or a medical certificate for any days off. We don't want children to come to school sick and a doctor is best to determine how many days rest a child requires.
