Parents of Spanish track students are invited to attend Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations this Friday. The Lower Campus performance begins at 8:30am in the Village Plaza. Upper Campus starts at 12:45pm. For further details, please refer to the Campus notes section below.

Help to make this Friday's celebrations a success at Upper Campus

Upper Campus are still in need of help to prepare for this Friday's HHM celebrations. Please use this SignUp Genius link to volunteer to donate foods from any of the 21 Hispanic countries or volunteer to serve the food on the day of the celebrations. Help is also needed to decorate the auditorium and cafeteria.

Does your student want to learn about bubbles, bacteria, or blood? Do they like to make slime? Well, we've got some exciting news – ScienceFest is back! Join us this Saturday, October 14, from 10am to 12pm at Charles McDaniel Park (Lower Campus). Get ready to immerse yourself in a world of hands-on STEM-related exhibits that will spark your child's imagination and curiosity!

GLOBE Trot is set to take place on November 10. This school-wide fun run and exercise-focused event is our biggest fundraiser of the year and all students get to take part!

By now, GLOBE families should have received an email from Qgiv containing log-in information to access your child's individual fundraising page, or you can search for it here. When you access the page you will find that your child's account has already been set up and fundraising can begin!

Lower Campus

Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations

Friday, October 13, from 8:30am to 9:30am in the Village Plaza.

Parents of Spanish track students are invited to attend.

Today, Kindergarten enjoyed a field trip to Yule Farm in Stockbridge. Also, 1st grade Spanish track students made a great hallway display and can be seen representing various Hispanic countries.

We would also like to congratulate students Oakley Wang, Leah Bassett, Niara Clark, and Blaise Turnipseed for earning their CREST Shout-Out and pins during September's Community Circle.

Upper Campus

Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations

Upper Campus have been enjoying the various themed days this week to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Students have been working very hard to prepare for Friday's culminating event and they are really looking forward to being able to share their performances.

We are pleased to include some images from a recent field trip to the YiFan cooking school to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival.

Ms. Gerhardt’s 5th grade music students continue to work on their music-reading skills and are using the rhythms of traditional rhymes to create clapping games with partners.

Basketball team try-outs (5th grade to 8th grade)

All basketball tryouts are taking place at Clairmont Presbyterian gym (Family Center), 1994 Clairmont Road, Decatur, GA30033.

Girls team tryouts:

October 11 and 12, from 3:45pm to 5:30pm.

Boys team tryouts:

October 19 and 20, from 4pm to 5:45pm.

For planning purposes, if your child makes a team, practice days will be Tuesday and Thursday.

Important notes: Please wear a T-shirt, basketball shorts and basketball/tennis shoes to tryouts. You must have a completed sports physical form on file prior to your child taking part.
