Wow... February 5th already! This issue is focusing on Competency-Based Education.
This video from KnowledgeWorks provides a quick introduction to competency education. In a traditional school-centered system, learners move from one grade to the other regardless of having mastered skills. Competency education flips the traditional school-centered model and focuses on learner-centered practices. Learners move on to new levels after mastering clear learning targets. How learners get to competency is personalized to needs and interests of the learner.
