Hello, Wonderful Linder Families!

This is Mrs. Rodriguez with a few reminders as we gear up for another wonderful week of learning and growing together!

Our students and staff have been working so hard and making tremendous growth! Thank you for all your support and checking in with your student and your teacher to ensure your student is making progress.

This is our final week before we get a week of rest during Fall Break. This week we will not have school on Monday, November 13th. We are also appreciating our teacher assistants this week! If you would like to drop off a snack for our teacher assistants please leave it at the front office and we will share it with them.

Beginning on Tuesday, we will have our annual Scholastic Book Fair in the library. Also, we will have our Fall Family Meal on November 15th. Please pay in advance if possible but turning in your money to the front office. This will help our lines move quickly. We are also having our picture retakes on November 15th.

We appreciate all you do to support Linder. The success of every school comes from three pillars, staff, students, and families. With your help and support we can continue to soar to new heights!

As a reminder, a key factor in the success of our students is their daily attendance. Please help ensure your student is at school daily unless they are sick or have a fever. As a reminder, all students should be fever free without fever reducing medication for 24 hours before returning to school. If a student is absent, please be sure to provide a note to the front office or call 512-414-2398 if you have any questions.

We are looking forward to another great week of learning and growing.

Updates:

• There is no school on Monday, November 13th.
  
• Brighter Bites is on Tuesday. Volunteers please check in the office at 8:00 a.m.
• This week is Book Fair. Students can purchase books and items for sale.
• There is no school next week for Fall Break.
• School begins at 7:40. School is over at 3:10.
• Bring a water bottle. We have water refill stations.
• Students have recess everyday and should wear shoes they can safely play in.

• All arrival and dismissal is at our front drive. Please drive slowly through the front drive. Please be patient.
• All students will receive free breakfast and lunch for the year.
• Bus rider drop off begins first at 7:05.
• Parent drop off begins at 7:15, after buses clear.

This event will take place on Saturday, Nov. 18 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Travis Expo Center (7311 Decker Ln. Austin, TX 78724). The event includes traditional dance competitions, singers, musicians, artists, craftsmen, and a Native American market and food court. Kids 12 and under are FREE. Parking is FREE. Tickets can be purchased online for $7 or at the gate for $10 cash.

Este evento se llevará a cabo el sábado 18 de noviembre de 9 a.m. a 9 p.m. en el Travis Expo Center (7311 Decker Ln. Austin, TX 78724). El evento incluye competencias de danza tradicional, cantantes, músicos, artistas, artesanos y un mercado y patio de comidas de nativos americanos. Los niños menores de 12 años entran GRATIS. Dear Linder Families,

Any changes to how your child gets home need to be communicated to the front office by no later than 1PM.

We will continue to encourage our students to eat healthy at school.

Foods of Minimal Nutritional Value will not be allowed for snacks during the day. This includes candy, soda, and chips. We will share healthy snack options with families and students. Please privately remind students and remind families of our snack expectations if they bring a snack that is an FMNV.

A quick and healthy option readily available are the fruit options provided with our BIC. We will continue to inform and share ideas as we begin our Brighter Bites lessons, as well.

Unfortunately, moving forward we will no longer be able to heat up lunches that are brought from home. Please support us by packing lunches for your student that do not require the microwave.

Rules:

• For the safety of everyone, behave appropriately with no loud noises.
• Cooperate with the bus driver and others.
• Enter and exit the bus in an orderly fashion.
• Transportation employees have the authority to assign seats at any time.
• Stay in your assigned seat, facing forward.
• Keep hands, head and feet inside the bus.
• Do not drop or throw objects inside or outside the bus.
• Do not eat or drink, except water, while on the bus.
• Do not litter on the bus.
• No inappropriate language.
• No weapons, alcohol or drugs, including tobacco.
• No physical or verbal altercations.
• No skateboards
• Buckle up at all times

Consequences for violations:

1. First violation: Principal or assistant principal will conference with student. Suspension from the bus may occur with this violation. Parents or guardians will be notified.
2. Second violation: Student will be suspended from the bus for three school days. Parents or guardian will be notified.
3. Third violation: Student will be suspended from the bus for an extended period of time until agreement can be reached between parents, guardians, administrator, bus driver, transportation supervisor and student.

We want to ensure that we can make our school dismissal process as efficient as possible, but please know that dismissal may take longer than usual during the first few weeks of school as we try to get all students to the proper location. We appreciate your patience and flexibility in this regard. Additionally, we would like to inform you that there is ongoing construction in the neighborhood so you may have to take an alternative route to arrive to Linder.
