PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE
Hello Eagle Crest Families!
I want to express my sincere thanks for your outstanding participation in our recent Parent-Teacher Conferences. With over 95% of families joining us, it was a tremendous success! Our teachers and staff love connecting with you during these conferences. It's a time for us to discuss your children's learning and envision their growth together. I personally enjoy welcoming families at the front entrance year after year; it's a wonderful tradition.
At Eagle Crest, we firmly believe in the power of partnership with families. By working together effectively, we create an environment where our students can thrive, learn, and grow. Our school motto, "We are leaders, we help build a better world," encapsulates our shared commitment to shaping bright futures for our students.
Before I conclude, I'd like to extend a special shout-out to our incredible PTO. They've been working tirelessly to provide our teachers with delicious and hearty meals to keep them energized during those long conference nights. Your support means the world to us, and we couldn't do it without you!
Once again, thank you for being such an integral part of the Eagle Crest family. Your participation in our Parent-Teacher Conferences reflects your dedication to your child's education, and it's a testament to the wonderful community we've built together.
Warmly,
Amanda

DEAN OF STUDENTS' UPDATE
Hello Eagle Crest Families!
We focus a lot on our Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) traits throughout the school day. We teach students RISE (Responsible, Inclusive, Safe, and Empathetic) behaviors throughout our schedule and in all locations around the building. Students receive RISE Tickets to celebrate their efforts, both big and small. These tickets have become a cherished tradition, with students rushing to the office to submit them and celebrating with our front office staff as well as any adult they see along their way. We also honor three students each day on the morning announcements and hope to recognize every student this year.
New this year, we have created a giant pictograph that tracks the distribution of RISE Tickets by grade level. This visual representation, displayed in our main hallway, showcases the collective impact of our students' dedication to these values. So far this year, our students have received an impressive 1,050 RISE Tickets, reflecting their ongoing commitment to our shared RISE values.
We couldn't be prouder of our students and their continuous efforts to nurture a positive and supportive school community. We look forward to celebrating more RISE moments throughout the year and thank you for your ongoing support in reinforcing these values at home.
All the best,
Lindsey Cheney
Dean of Students

PTO UPDATE
Dear Eagle Crest Families,
This October is busy! I hope you enjoy your fall break after a week of Laps for Leadership kick-off party, conferences, the book fair, and restaurant night at Chipotle. Below, please see how your generosity has helped our teachers and learn more about Laps for Leadership!
Your Generosity in Action!
As you know, this week is conference week, and teachers and staff are spending most of their waking hours at Eagle Crest. Your Gratitude Fund gifts are hard at work providing pizza, salads, a burrito bar, sweets, and drinks to our hard-working staff. They appreciate the support SO much. A special thank you to Texas Roadhouse for donating dinner to ALL the teachers and staff on Tuesday night!
Laps 4 Leadership is Live!
Eagle Crest’s biggest fundraiser and annual fun run is October 26th! 100% of Laps 4 Leadership donations support student enrichment programs. As of Wednesday afternoon, we have raised over $4,000 and 18% of our school goal! How can you help?
Make a donation of any amount here: https://givebutter.com/Laps4Leadership And be sure to choose your child’s team (AKA teacher) so that your donation brings them closer to their classroom goal! Cash and checks (made out to Eagle Crest PTO) are great, too!
Over Fall Break, share the link with family and friends you are visiting. Suggest a contribution exchange to each other’s charity of choice in lieu of holiday gifts!
Post your child’s class link on Facebook and Instagram. When people ask for contributions on social media, they average THREE TIMES the donations!
See if your employer participates in an employee matching program to DOUBLE your gift! More information here: http://www.eaglecrestpto.com/match
Sign up to volunteer on October 26th!The PTO needs help counting laps, handing out apples or water, and returning things to the school after the race. Click here to volunteer.
Thank You to Chipotle!
Hope you all enjoyed your tacos last night! Chipotle is giving 33% of all sales to Eagle Crest PTO! If you need more excuses to escape the kitchen, the PTO will be hosting restaurant nights with Qdoba, Texas Roadhouse, and more throughout the school year.
All are Welcome at the Next Coffee with the Principal and PTO Meeting.
Please join Principal Holden and the PTO for an informal meeting on Friday, October 20. Principal Holden will be sharing her vision and the exciting things in store for Eagle Crest this year! You can learn more about the wonderful things happening at Eagle Crest, ask any questions you may have, or just come for the caffeine! FairIsle Coffee is donating their delicious coffee! Please meet in front of the main school door after drop-off. ¡Habrá servicios de interpretación en español disponibles!
Sincerely,
Katie Lancaster, PTO President

BOOOOOK-TOBER KICKS OFF THE READING CHALLENGE
Keep your child reading at home with our school wide Reading Challenge. This is our 4th year and kids are already excited to win some FREE BOOKS! A BIG Thank You goes out to our PTO. They purchased lots of books from the recent book fair for prizes for our readers!
Our school wide goal is to read 250,000 minutes before Winter Break. The challenge starts this week! Winners will be selected from the list of students who log their minutes each week on the Weekly Reading Log. There will be one winner in every classroom each week. THAT’S 18 WINNERS EACH WEEK!!!
Help your student log their minutes each week by Tuesday mornings for a chance to win a FREE BOOK. Some classes may be doing this during class time, so check with your student to see how you can help them with tracking and logging their reading minutes.
To jump start the Reading Challenge, our first winners will be announced on Friday, October 27th and THREE READERS FROM EACH CLASS will win a FREE BOOK!
20 minutes a day is all it takes. So find a comfy place to read and fall into a good book.
🇺🇸 CALLING ALL VETERANS! 🇺🇸
In honor of Veterans Day, Eagle Crest School warmly invites local veterans from our community to join us for a special moment during our morning announcements in November. We would be honored to have you lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance.
If you are a veteran or know someone who is, please reach out to Amanda Holden at holden_amanda@svvsd.org or call 303-485-6073 to schedule your visit. Your presence would mean the world to us as we pay tribute to your service.
HALLOWEEN PARADE
We are looking forward to our annual Halloween Parade! We are planning to host our parade on Tuesday, October 31st at 2:15pm. The students will make a full lap around the school in their costumes while we all celebrate the return of this fun tradition. All families are welcome to join us as we march outside around the school.
All students are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes to school and should plan to arrive with the full costume on and ready to go. Costumes must be school appropriate and not interfere with the learning environment. Please do not send students with anything violent (weapons, blood, etc.), or costumes that could be a safety hazard since we will be marching. Blow up costumes and masks can only be worn during the parade. Individual teachers will send information home regarding classroom celebrations.
