It may be hard to believe this, but we are embarking on the home stretch of the first semester with 3 weeks of coursework leading to our Final Exam week.

During finals weeks, we will only be open on Monday, 12/18 for snacks and lunch. All other days, we will be CLOSED. Please plan accordingly.

The RC Boys Basketball program is sponsoring the RC Holiday Gift Card Delivery Service again this year. This is not a fundraiser, but offered as a way to give back and show support for our school. Our hope is this service provides a convenient option for families to recognize Rock Canyon teachers and staff for all of their hard work and dedication to our students.

This delivery service allows families to donate money toward gift cards for RC teachers and staff members along with an optional personalized message. The recipients then choose exactly what gift cards they would like to receive with the contributions made to them. Customized gift card packages will be delivered before Finals Week in December.

Diploma Name Check - We need your help to make sure your student’s legal name is correct in the Parent Portal as their transcripts are considered a legal document.

Their name on the diploma needs to match the legal name on your student’s birth certificate for record keeping as they transition to colleges, military, etc and for scholarship info.

• If you see an error (First Name, Middle Name, Last Name & Suffix - if applicable) and need to make a correction, please email our Registrar at dvannatta@dcsdk12.org
• The school will need a copy of your students birth certificate or legal name change documentation, should we need to make a change in Infinite Campus.
• Their full name will be printed on their diploma based on this information, (First, Middle, Last & Suffix) so we greatly appreciate your help with accuracy.

2. Click on More (in the left column) and click on Demographics.
3. Your student's name should be correct on this screen.

Parents of Rock Canyon High School Juniors,

Rock Canyon is once again partnering with Elite Academics in offering SAT practice and preparation. Students who participated in the Rock Canyon/Elite Academics Prep Course last year increased their SAT score by an average of nearly 100 points. This course is specifically designed to help students with the new digital format for the test.

Rock Canyon SAT Prep Course

Registration through MySchoolBucks (you will need to log into your account) is now open for the Spring Prep Course. The registration link is also available here. The first 100 students (RCHS juniors only) to register will receive the four session SAT instruction and preparation for the discounted price of $499 (regularly $599). Any questions about the prep course can be addressed by calling Elite Academics at (720)216-2222. All classes are held at Rock Canyon High School.

Spring Prep Course Schedule (students will attend all sessions):

• Saturday, March 9th 9:00 am - 2:00 pm (lunch provided)
• Saturday, March 30th 9:00 am - 2:00 pm (lunch provided)
• Saturday, April 6th 9:00 am - 2:00 pm (lunch provided)Saturday, April 13th 9:00 am - 2:00 pm (lunch provided)

This course leads up to the SAT School Day test, which will be administered at Rock Canyon High School on Tuesday, April 16th. All juniors at RCHS are automatically registered for the SAT School Day test.

RCHS/Elite Academics SAT Prep Course Spring 2024

Dear DCSD parents/guardians of high school students,

DCSD is among more than 100 Colorado school districts that administer the Healthy Kids Colorado Survey every other year. In 2021, 6,947 high school students and 5335 middle school students in Douglas County School District took this survey.

For the 2023-24 school year, the survey will be administered to select students in all middle and high schools between November 27th to December 15th .

Select secondary students will receive the survey during class time. They may choose to answer only the questions they feel comfortable answering and may skip any of the questions in the survey. The survey is anonymous, meaning the answers students give will be kept private. No one will know how an individual student answers, and their responses cannot be tied to their student login or device in any way. DCSD will be provided only with aggregate data showing how all participants responded as a group, not with any data about individual students.

Don’t want your student to take the survey? Parents can opt their child out at any time up until the day of the survey.

To opt out ELECTRONICALLY please see THIS link by December 10th.

Written opt outs will be taken up until test time. Students who are not completing the survey will do other schoolwork during the survey time. If you do not opt out, your student will be given the survey.
