Greetings CEAMS Family:

What an amazing first few months of school it has been! Let me begin by thanking you for welcoming Assistant Principal Brown and me to Carver Elementary Arts Magnet School with open arms! We appreciate you joining us in our efforts to create a vibrant and inclusive learning environment where creativity, arts, and academic excellence thrive hand in hand!! We have lots of exciting activities and events planned for the month of October and are very excited about the months to come. Please look for this monthly publication that will include important dates and reminders that will keep you abreast of all of the wonderful things happening at our school. We sincerely hope that it will be a helpful resource to maintain a connection between school and home! We look forward to seeing you soon!

Pink Out Spirit Week: Oct. 2-6th

Teachers, students, and staff joined the fight against breast cancer by dressing out each day and donating our "Change for Change". Thank you parents for allowing your students to participate in the daily activities!! It was a super fun week!!

Annual Title I Parent Involvement Meeting: Oct. 12, 2023

Please join us for our Annual Title I Parent Involvement Meeting on Oct. 12th from 10-11 a.m. This meeting will include a discussion of what it means to be a Title I School, the components of the parent compact, and how our school is evaluated annually.

National Red Ribbon Week: Oct. 23-31, 2023

Red Ribbon Week serves as a way to encourage school communities to educate students and encourage participation in drug prevention activities. During this week, students and adults around the nation pledge to increase their knowledge by learning more about the destructive effects of drug abuse and renewing their commitment to live a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. A flyer will be sent home for students to participate in daily activities.

💡 Reminders

  • Students should not arrive on campus before 8 a.m. as there are no teachers and staff on duty during this time.
  • Breakfast is served from 8-8:35 a.m. each morning. Students should be in class no later than 7:40 a.m.
  • Help us make Carver Elementary Arts Magnet a wonderful place for students to learn and grow by speaking with your child about the importance of good behavior at school. We want every child to feel loved and welcome!
  • Please communicate with your child's teacher via Class Dojo, email, or schedule a parent conference by contacting Mr. Connell Vandiver, parent liaison.

October is National Bullying Prevention Month

Throughout the month of October, students, schools, and communities all over the world will join together against bullying in our schools in neighborhoods. We will have various activities throughout the month to focus on Unity and recognizing that all people are similar in some ways and different in others. We want to promote a unified school campus.

Congratulations to the newly elected Carver Elementary Student Government Association Members! We look forward to collaborating and planning with our students as we "RISE TO THE CHALLENGE!"

Alabama Literacy Act & Alabama Numeracy Act Information Workshop

Our school will host an information workshop on the Alabama Literacy Act and the Alabama Numeracy Act on Wednesday, Oct. 25th in the CEAMS Library at 10 a.m. Please join us if you would like to more about these initiatives and how they will impact your child.
