Happy Spring Everyone! It is hard to believe we are wrapping up quarter 3 and moving into quarter 4. It is even more hard to believe there is just around 9 weeks left of school. There are many events coming up that we are very excited about including Spring Break and Prom! With all of these events the end of year is going to fly by.

In the past month Spring Sports have started. Softball, Baseball, Tennis, and Track have all begun! Please see below for more information from our Athletic Directors about the end of Winter Sports. The drama production, Mamma Mia! Took place and our students and staff did an excellent job putting on this event. In addition Lyman hosted the annual Evening with the Arts Event that encompasses Lebanon Middle School and Lebanon Elementary School.

Lyman now has an updated computer lab! This new Mac Lab is used for Yearbook, Graphic Design, Photography and Music Technology. Lyman already had 10 Mac Computers in another room and was able to add 11 additional Mac Computers using Capital funding.

These new computers allow our students to use enhanced programs in these classes now that have much better processing speeds. Thank you very much to Mr. Gonzalez, Mrs. Quiles-Glover, Mr. Dulac, Mrs. Belles,Mr. Aquilar, Mr. Dion, Mr. Jarvis, Ms. Johnson, Mr. Covino, Mrs. Marino, Ms. Ricard and Mr. Girasoli for your hard work and research to get this lab for our students!

In early March the District Art and Music Department put on this annual event. The event includes musical performances from Lebanon Elementary, Middle and High school band and chorus, a sneak peak of Mamma Mia, multiple art displays from students in the district and opportunities for attendees to use some of their own artistic abilities! Thank you to the teachers, Mr. Covino, Ms. Johnson, Mrs. Marino, Mrs. Shuman, Mr. Smith, and Ms. Ricard for a great event!

In the beginning of March Lyman students put on the long awaited performance of Mamma Mia! The students have been rehearsing for months and did a fantastic job recreating this musical and serenading the audience with some familiar tunes!

-Thursday, March 30, 2023 - College Fair - Attention Juniors:

The National Association for College Admissions Counseling will be hosting a College Fair at the CT Convention Center in Hartford on Thursday, March 30th from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Students can register at nacacattend.org/23Hartford. Please see your counselor for more information.

- Students recently where able to select courses for next year through Powerschool. The Class Registration portal was open until March 14. If a student did not complete course selection or have questions/concerns they should see their counselor to make any changes. Please keep future career interests in mind when picking electives. It is a good opportunity to learn more about areas of interest. Course selections will be mailed home once completed.

- Counselors are meeting individually with Juniors to talk about the college application process and course selections for next year,

- Counselors will be meeting individually with 9th graders in the Spring where course selections will be reviewed.

On Thursday, March 16, Lyman hosted the semi-annual Career day. There were over twenty presenters including multiple Lyman Graduates and members of the Lyman Community. There was a wide range of careers for students to choose from including; FBI Agent, Marine Science, Athletics/College Coach, Business Owner, Bank Management, Fire Chief, Conservation Officer, Engineer, Landscaping, Graphic Design/communications, Nurse, Nurse-midwife, Business Owner, accounting/finance, director of tech services, teacher, professional salesperson, managing director of professional services, DEEP, and architect!
