Community Mid-Week Message
Building Champions in Academics, Character, and Community
Growth, Growth and More Growth
Panther Nation,
Our district is growing and continues to grow at a historic rate. The Monday after spring break LHISD had 27 new students enroll in our school district in just one day. We are overjoyed to welcome all of our new families into Liberty Hill ISD.
In addition to our teachers and staff, I am particularly proud of our construction team who has tirelessly worked, even over holiday breaks, to prepare for the abundant growth we foresee in the coming years. Because of them, our campuses will be able to provide more students the high-quality education Liberty Hill ISD is known for.
As we wind down these last seven weeks in the 2022-23 school year, I encourage our community to reflect on the achievements that your family has made. We are continuously growing so it is important to pause from time to time to reflect on how far we have come.
Please take time to recharge and refresh over this four-day weekend. We look forward to you welcoming our students back on Tuesday, April 11.
Best regards,
Superintendent Snell
Let's Celebrate!
This week is truly a cause for celebration in our school district, as we have four wonderful events to commemorate. For the month of April, we are observing Autism Awareness Month, School Librarian Day on April 4, Assistant Principal's Week from April 3 – 7, and Paraprofessional Appreciation Day on April 6!
Autism Awareness Month
First and foremost, Autism Awareness Month is a chance for us to recognize and honor the unique needs and perspectives of individuals on the autism spectrum. This week is dedicated to raising awareness about autism, promoting acceptance and inclusion, and advocating for resources and support for those with autism and their families.
School Librarian Day
On April 4th, we celebrated School Librarian Day. Our school librarians play an essential role in our district, providing students with access to a wealth of information, resources, and literature. They help to foster a love of learning and reading among our students, and we are grateful for their dedication and hard work. Join us is recognizing the invaluable contributions of our school librarians and showing our appreciation for all that they do!
Assistant Principal's Week
From April 3-7, we are observing Assistant Principal's Week. Our assistant principals are an integral part of our school district, working tirelessly to support our students, staff, and parents. They provide leadership, guidance, and support to help ensure that our schools run smoothly and effectively. This week is a chance for us to show our gratitude and appreciation for their hard work and dedication to our district.
Paraprofessional Appreciation Day
On April 6, we recognize Paraprofessional Appreciation Day and honor the important work of our paraprofessionals in the school district. They provide academic and behavioral support to students, work closely with teachers, and help with administrative tasks. They are essential to our school community, and we appreciate their dedication to our students' success!
We are proud to observe Autism Awareness Week, School Librarian Day, Assistant Principal's Week, and Paraprofessional Appreciation Day and we look forward to engaging in a variety of activities and events to promote awareness, understanding, and appreciation for these important causes.
Did you Know?
Did you know that Liberty Hill ISD is expanding at a historically high rate? The district is adding over 1,000 new students every year. In fact, Liberty Hill ISD is currently ranked as the #5 fastest growing district in the Austin area. As a result of this rapid growth, for every 1,000 students enrolled in the district, an additional campus is required. This presents both opportunities and challenges for the district as it works to keep pace with the needs of its expanding population. Despite these challenges, Liberty Hill ISD remains committed to providing its students with exceptional educational opportunities and resources.
Parent/Guardian Survey
Liberty Hill ISD would like to hear from you -- our parents and guardians. Your feedback regarding our staff, programs, and services is crucial to the growth of our district. We pride ourselves in providing a variety of learning opportunities to our students but need to hear from you to ensure we equip our students to become the best version of themselves. Please share your thoughts with us through the 2022-23 LHISD Community and Student Survey.
Note:
- All responses are strictly confidential.
- If you have a child in more than one school, please complete a separate form for each school.
We look forward to working with you as we continue to build champions together!
