Band Fees in Envelopes
If you choose to pay for meal plans in cash or by check, please label the envelope with your student's name, what the payment is for, and the exact amount you're paying. If you forget your envelope, there will be envelopes in Mrs. Mendez's office that parents or students can fill out.
For example: Ida Musgrove/Instrument Rental Fee.
Water Jugs
All new students receive a band water jug as part of their fees. Anyone needing a replacement or back-up water jug can purchase one from the Johnson Band web store by clicking here.
PLEASE LABEL YOUR JUG ON THE LID SO WE CAN SEE IT FROM THE TOP!
PLEASE DO NOT PUT ANYTHING ON THE SIDES INCLUDING CRICUT LABELS.
If your new student has not received their water jug, they should bring any large water jug to the first day of Summer Band. They will receive their band water jug that morning, and it will be required for every day of Summer Band.
* Students must take their jugs home every night and bring it to the Band Hall the next day with them filled.*
Boosters will have a water station to REFILL water jugs with ice and water.
Section GroupMe
Have you joined your section's GroupMe group yet? If not, email Carmen Sifuentes at vp@johnsonbands.com and she will get you connected to the right person.
What is GroupMe?
GroupMe is a two-way communication app (can also be accessed on the GroupMe website on a computer). Each section has a Parent Section Lead. These PSL's each host their section's GroupMe. Your Section GroupMe is a great place to ask questions to other parents. If your PSL does not know the answer, they will check with a Board Member and get the information you need, or point you in the right direction. The Band Boosters also share important information over GroupMe that might not be emailed or shared on FB (like reminders).

From the director
Speaking of Summer band, Wednesday is the day! Everyone arrives Wednesday morning for the beginning of Summer Band. Make sure you have everything you need to make this an incredibly successful day. Have the appropriate attire for marching outside which includes white T-shirt (guard see Corner below for shirt colors!), athletic shoes, shorts, sunglasses, cap, sunscreen and an already-filled Jaguar Band water jug. Also, make sure you bring your instrument, equipment and all of your music. We will be working on the 2022 Jaguar Band Show music, as well as stands tunes and the TMEA All-State music for our students who will be auditioning for the region and all-state bands. But most of all, bring your excitement, energy, and motivation with you to help kick off this year‘s incredible season!
This week we also kick off our biggest fundraising effort ever attempted by the Jaguar Band! Students will receive some preliminary paperwork to complete on Wednesday for our GroupFund fundraiser. We need everyone to fill out the forms in their entirety, as this is the information that the students will be using to send out invitations to various individuals to help us generate the funds for Bands of America Grand Nationals. The official launch date of our fundraiser will be Friday, July 29. We want to kick it off in grand style and make sure we reach our financial goal that will get us to BOA Grand Nationals in Indianapolis this fall! Again, it’s all hands on deck! We need every single student in our program actively involved in this process to help make this fundraiser a success!
I cannot begin to tell you how excited we are for this fall and the unbelievable potential that our program has. We are looking forward to seeing all of our Jaguar Band and Guard members on Wednesday!
Let’s have a great week this week and as always “It’s a Great Day to be a Jaguar”!
The Beat--A Weekly Update for Percussion-Specific Information

If you’ve purchased the summer meal plan, that will start on Wednesday. Drop-off and pick-up will be in front of Band Hall entrance. Students drivers should not park in the senior parking lot. Camp will take place in the JHS Band Halls.
What do I need for Percussion Camp/Summer Band?

The goal is to raise money for the band and to give families peace of mind that they are paying a reasonable amount when it comes to insurance.
