Year 9 History Trip

Year 9 historians have taken part in their first Revolution day at Uppingham School and attended an inspirational talk by Professor Steve King on careers.

Brooke Weston Trust Sports Awards

Our students represented the school impeccably at the Brooke Weston Trust Sports Awards and we received some fantastic awards, pictured are winners, Louis, Lexi, Erin and Katie.

County Schools Challenge

Students took part in the County School Challenge this week and presented their invention, a card game designed to prevent knife crime to a panel of judges.

  • Miss Connellan has nominated Year 7 student Jessica for an excellent description of the Artful Dodger in English.
  • Mrs Ferns would like to day well done to Year 10 Maths students who have completed their Maths mock exam this week. They modelled exemplary behaviour and a very positive and mature attitude to the exams.
  • Miss Fenner has nominated Year 7 student Sonny and Year 9 students Tamara and Summer for their excellent effort and progress in English.
  • Mr Gourlay has nominated Year 10 student Alex for his excellent contribution in recent Computer Science lessons. His technical understanding of programming skills have improved over the course of the last term. Also nominated is Year 8 student Sai for his confident and proficient use of Photoshop software to create a DVD cover for his Python Text Adventure game. Going well above and beyond expectations and truly excelling!
  • Mrs Morgan has nominated the following students for their excellent work in Art, Year 7 students Emma and Emily, Year 8 students Ben and Gus and Year 9 students Rhys and Liam.
  • Mr Lee has nominated Year 7 students Sarah and Ellie D for consistent hard work and focus in every Maths lesson.
  • Congratulations to Year 9 student Sam who was awarded a distinction in his Level 5 Piano Examination.
  • Mr Godfrey has nominated Year 12 students Tomasz and Kai for great grades in the most recent Physics mock.
  • Mr Cox has nominated Year 10 Drama students for excellent commitment to their performance exams this week. Also nominated are the following Scientists, 7TE for excellent practical work,, Year 8 students for great work planning and investigation and finally, Year 10 students Kyle and Rohan for excellent work in science on the 4.5 billion year history of the Earth topic.

Year 11 Trip to Skegness

Year 11 students visited Skegness to celebrate the end of their exams, students and staff had a great day and spent time at the beach and the funfair.

Year 10 Drama

Year 10 Drama students completed the final rehearsals/ dress run and performed their actual GCSE coursework performances to an external moderator. Well done to you all.

International Space Challenge

Students competed against teams from secondary schools across the county at the International Space Challenge, students were required to demonstrate their problem solving and innovative skills.

Attendance Matters

Every single day a student is absent from school equates to a day lost of learning. At Corby Technical School we pride ourselves in maintaining excellent attendance. Our target is to achieve and maintain a whole school attendance of above 96.5%. We will be giving you weekly updates on our whole school attendance, the tutor group and house who achieved the highest attendance this week.

  • Year 7 Hunstanton trip is on Tuesday 2nd July, please ensure your child arrives in school no later than 8.30am and has had breakfast prior to arriving at school. We expect to arrive back at school at approximately 5.00pm.
