In February, many BHS teachers across the curriculum highlighted the study of Black History in their disciplines. Meanwhile, students from the DEIB steering committee and Civil Rights Team partnered with teachers to develop 2 school wide educational programs in honor of Black History Month. On February 27 flex groups discussed videos about the experience of growing up Black; Black excellence & resistance; and ways white students can be supportive allies to their BIPOC peers. A followup live panel discussion featuring local Black voices was postponed due to a snow day, and will take place at BHS on Thursday, March 9.
