A Note from the Office

As we begin our summer vacation, I want to thank you for all the ways you have supported ACES and contributed to our students' learning. Your commitment to helping with homework, attending events, volunteering, and providing food for our many events does not go unnoticed.

Reflecting on the year, we've made many wonderful memories. Academic growth, new friendships, Colt's Blue visit, FFA petting zoo, field trips, book fair, sports camps, and so much more.

LOST AND FOUND

The Lost and Found items will be donated on Tuesday, May 30. Please stop by and take a look or call the office and we will take a peek to see if your missing item is here!

SPRING TESTING

ILEARN for grade 3-5 is complete at Adams Central Elementary. Parents will receive Individual Student Reports via USPS mail as soon as guidance from the IDOE permits.

CogAT testing for high ability is finished in K and 2, and will occur in grade 5. More details to come.

K-5 Reading and Math NWEA tests will be administered during the May 1-12 window.

I AM will continue being administered through May 12.

IREAD scores have been mailed home to families. If you did not receive your child's scores, please get in touch with the elementary office. Summer school information will be coming home for students who need to retest.

PAX: FOREIGN EXCHANGE STUDENT

Julie Schwartz helps coordinate placement for foreign exchange students. She is looking for host families for the 23-24 school year. To learn more about the benefits and requirements of this amazing opportunity, read this special letter from Julie.

2023-2024 REGISTRATION

Elementary registration will take place on Tuesday, July 25, from 2:00-6:00 PM. Although the majority of the paperwork can be completed online, we ask that you schedule time in your day to come into the building to complete the following items.

Online registration: computers available
Address Verification (Utility Bill, Pay stub, etc.)
Classroom teacher assignments
Dismissal plans
ZoomQ registration: Assign safe pickups
Boys and Girls Club registration
Latchkey registration
Book fee payment
Girl Scout information
Complete background checks for volunteering

United Way is doing its annual- Clothe Kid applications can be accessed through the following link or through the elementary office.

Please fill out a separate application for each of your children and mail or drop off application

to United Way of Adams County, 218 E. Monroe St., Decatur, IN 46733 by July 14.

RECREATION NATION

RECREATION NATION IS BACK. Recreation Nation summer camps are open to all students in Adams County (1 st grade-8 th grade) to promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect. THERE IS NO COST TO THESE SUMMER CAMPS. Please see link for more information on registration.

STUFF-A-BUS EVENT

The United Way of Adams County will hold its Day of Caring on Friday, June 23. This "Stuff a Bus" event will collect food and toiletries for our local food banks. If you want to donate food or items on June 23, please visit a bus closest to you between 8 am and 4 pm. There will be a bus in Decatur at the United Way office, a bus in front of Adams Central Schools, and a bus beside the Chamber of Commerce in Berne. If you would like a flier to post at your workplace or more information about volunteering, please call Jessica Thieme at (260) 728-2056.
