Message from Mr. Finkle
I can't believe that it has been a month since the end of school. I hope that everyone has enjoyed the weather and time with family and friends. I just wanted to touch base with the community on a couple of items that you should be aware of!
1) Athletics: Friday, July 21st is the last day to complete the ATS Portal in order to guarantee that your child will be eligible for the first day of practice. All physical information must also be turned in to either Sue Jordan in the main office or Anthony Guidotti in the athletic office. Football begins on Monday, August 7th. All other Fall sports begin on Monday, August 14th. If you have any questions, please email or call Sue Jordan at x3003 or Anthony Guidotti at x3014.
2) DELRAN READS!!!
Please remember Delran Reads! If you have any questions about our summer reading program, please email Eileen Baker, Supervisor of Language Arts!
Follow this link for important research on summer reading programs and how you can support your child and his/her education: 10 Critical Facts about Summer Reading Losses from the "Summer Slide" .
Math Summer Assignments can be found HERE.
All other Summer Assignments can be found HERE.
3) Requests for changes to a student schedule must be made by July 31. The availability of the counselors is posted on our webpage. Requests for schedule changes can be handled by any counselor. If you wish to meet with your specific counselor, it is suggested that you make an appointment through Mrs. Newman, x3008.
4) The Parent Portal for the 2017-2018 School Year will be open to all parents on Friday, August 18th.
5) Parents of incoming Juniors, please familiarize yourself with the Community Service requirement for all Juniors. The link above will give you both an overview and the specifics of the program. All Juniors must complete 15 hours of community sercive. Summer is a perfect opportunity to get started, or complete your requirement.
6) If your child has any outstanding fines(obligations) or has not comleted his/her community service requirement from last year (SENIORS), they will be ineligible to participate in co-curricular activities, including athletics. They will be permitted to practice; however, they will not be issued any equipment from the school. Please contact Mrs. Jordan in the main office to clear up any obligations. Please contact Mr. Stolarick to speak with him concerning community service hours.
7) For incoming Freshman and New Students to Delran High School in grades 10-12, our Orientation program will be held on August 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Performing Arts Center. The program for students will be from 10:00 -12:00 and the parent portion of the Orientation will be from 11:00 -12:00. More information will be forthcoming and we look forward to seeing everyone then!
