Getting ready for College
I know our Juniors and Seniors are looking forward to going to college this coming fall or a year from this fall. Many Universities have opportunities for students to experience the campus through tours and other events. As we hear of them, we will share the information with you.
One University has reached out and shared about their Senior Year Experience. The University of North Texas has shared some amazing opportunities for our students that are interested in going to UNT. If you would like more details, please here to learn more. Juniors have a Junior day and a Senior day this summer that they can attend in preparation for their Senior year.

Cap and gown fees
Seniors, money for your cap and gown were due by Friday Febuary 17th. The cost is $100 and needs to be turned into Ms. Higgins. If you have not turned these in yet you need to do it.
TELPAS Testing
March 6th:
4th, 7th, and 8th grade
March 7th:
2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th grade
March 8th:
9th, 10th, 11th, 12th grade
Read Across America Week
This next week we will be celebrating Read Across America. Students will be able to dress up different ways. Monday student will be able to wear crazy socks and a hat to school. The rest of their dress must be in school uniform. I will send out on Monday the rest of the weeks schedule.

Makeup days
This is a reminder that we will be having to makeup some of the school days that we missed due to the winter Ice storm we had in January and February. Monday March 20th we will be back in school instead of being off.
ESL YouTube channel
It is a wonderful time for us. Our special populations department has created a youtube channel with lots of amazing informtion. If you use the following link it will tak eyou to this channel fo rthe information.
Manara App
Downloading the Manara Academy App will help us stay connected. We will celebrate good news, share accomplishments, deadlines and events. Did you know you can set the app to your preferred language by going to settings and selecting your language choice? Great news Manara! We are making strides for improvement every day!
Autism Awareness month is coming up in April. Manara Academy will be putting on an event but wanted to give families a chance to order shirts to support Autism Awareness. If you would like to order a shirt click here to go to the page. All families will be paying their own order however the shirts will ship to the district and we will get them to you once they get in. The orders close on March 10th to get the shirts here in time.
Reminder of the Dismissal procedures and policy updates
This is a reminder that cell phones and ear buds are not to be used at school during school hours. If they are out they will be taken. Reminder that all students are to be in school uniform at all times unless it is a dress down day or a campus approved alt dress day. High school students have assigned seats for lunch. Please remind your student to stay in their ssinged seat. Are next Friday night lights will be on Janaury 20th for any student that has earned afterschool detention.
